NCAA looking to take bids for location of "First Four"

the "First Four" are almost always teams who are NOT at all likely to be name-teams or big draws...the lowest eight seeds...plus they are often playing 1000-2000 miles away form their fan base...
(in 2013 they were Liberty, NC A&T, Middle Tennessee, St. Mary's, LIU-Brooklynn, James Madison, Boise State, LaSalle)
no matter where you play such games, it'll be tough to get anyone interested..
I think this "First Four" has done as well in Dayton as it would anywhere - it would be a huge mistake to move it farther west and add the yawn-factor to the mass of eastern fans...

The NCAA has been taking bids for the First Four/Play-in game since the beginning, but has chosen to give the games Dayton everytime. This isn't the first time the NCAA has turned down a long-term proposal to keep the games in Dayton. IMO, it's really a non-story.
