I can't believe that was intentional, but we'll try to find out.

WoW! We looked awesome last night!!

            Just some thoughts:

Pross looks to be taking his senior year seriously. Hopefully he can stay aggressive all season and not be so streaky as he's been through his career.

Grier has a nice touch, but 0-8 from behind the arc is miserable. What's up with that? He complemented that with an 8-8 clip from the free throw line though.

Nice to hear/see that our freshman group (Swop, Steph, X) is getting experience right off the bat and it will be fun to follow their progress this season.

I'm ok with the team shooting 17 times from 3-point land, but if we're in a real game and have only made 1 of our first 10 shots, I'd like to see us refrain from chucking the 3's unless that's our last resort!

We look to be among the top Valley teams in steals once again, racking up 18 for the game!

I have seen a lot said about the 3-point line being further back in international play than in the NCAA - it's being used in the paper and on message boards as an excuse..but here's where I have a problem with that...

#1 - it's the same distance on both ends of the floor and I don't hear all those Bahamian teams complaining

#2 - we've known we're going to the Bahamas for months - and we've been practicing for weeks, at least 10 organized 2+ hr practice sessions...
We used the 24-second clock so we'd get used to it but did we use the 22ft-2in 3-pt line??

I never saw an extra line taped on either court when we were up there watching them practice & scrimmage..

#3 - even if we are deficient in some aspect of the game then just find a different way - stop taking shots you can't make -

Do the Bahamians play international rules all the time? If so, its a major difference.

8 new guys with 10 days of practices and international rules is major in my opinion

I hope they come back playing better than when they got there

yes, they play by FIBA rules and we knew it was coming - so new guys or not then take the shots you can make

It didn't seem to affect Maryland, Auburn, or Southern Miss.

well 2 of 3 are under 30% so they aren't breaking any records.....I'm way too lazy to look up last years stats for returning players...maybe they all shoot much better than they are in the Bahamas too.......

we will not be a great 3 pt shooting team this...hopefully we will be an improved 3 pt shooting team

The 3-point line is more than a foot further back, so of course it will have some effect. But I was referring to the International rules vs. the NCAA rules, not just 3-point line.
Manhattan scored 116 points against the PJ Stingers, and 103 in another game.
Maryland averaged well over 90 points per game for their games.
Auburn scored 99 points against the Real Deal Shockers and won all their games by an average margin of victory of 32 points.
Southern Miss scored 90 points last night.

My point was many of the teams seem to score a lot better than we have, so I am not sure the FIBA rules are our only problem.

Just looking at all that....who cares?...I just checked Maryland and I see 3 games they scored 97,91, and 88.....they won by an average 8.....so they gave up alot of points too.....and Manhatten lost to the Giants too.....

Hopefully this summer helps the team get better for this upcoming season...

If we were shooting 50% from 3 so far I wouldn't be gaga either.
