Disappointing 'me first' decisions made that hurt the team and team mates.

I do appreciate Geno proving tough love to players, break a rule, sit out. It's that simple. Probably the first time for some of these players since they were born they are being held accountable for their actions.

Hopefully Barnes and the rest of the team takes notice and become more team oriented.

BU absolutely needs a strong, vocal, no nonsense upperclass leader on this team to get all his fellow team mates to toe the line. Something BU has lacked over the years.

Hopefully team mates will make their disappointment known to Barnes.

Disappointing to lose, but, it still is a preseason road game for a team with lots of new faces and biased officiating - which is natural for these kinds of games.

With so many new faces playing together for the first time under competitive fire, understandable TO's would be elevated. Hopefully they were TO's due to timing and aggressiveness, and not just silly ones.

Great to see kids battled hard and didn't quit. Were in the game the whole night. It's never easy to play in strange gym shortly after international travel.

FT shooting % obviously needs to be better... and hopefully will improve over time and additional conditioning.

3 pt shooting - if you are not knocking them down, better be a team that goes all in on rebounding, and, being smart enough to give up the arc shots and develop a passing, ball movement pick and roll, inside game.

Encouraging to see BU rebounding better as well.

Bahamas must have brought in some MVC Officials for this exhibition game... Stripes haven't been kind to BU since the start of the JL era....

We are a victim of the foot stomping and arm crossing stare down excesses of the former regime.

What truly would be disappointing is if BU doesn't show improvement during this trip...

          At the 5-
Jordan Prosser played only 13 minutes, and had 8 rebounds & 4 points.
Chris Blake had a team leading 10 rebounds in 21 minutes, but he was 0-3 and scoreless.

I liked what I saw in the Red-White with Taylor....
he isn't a scorer but he plays hard and gives you something.....

Yeah, like stop shooting them and develop a mid range, and, inside game based on ball/player movement.

PASS THE BALL and PICK AND ROLL

It seems like BU hasn't been able to develop a pick and roll game since forever, with setting strong picks (with our big bigs) and ball handlers learning to run defenders into the picks, a lost art.

I'm upset with this loss just as much as my favorite baseball team losing a Spring Training game...

I know - me too - and we could run the table and win the rest of our games in the Bahamas but I am still a little concerned...
... it really isn't the final score that bothers me...
but aren't you at least a little upset how we looked exactly like the same team we were last year after the endless talk of how we had addressed all our needs and will look like a totally different team?
We defended OK but got very few points in the paint, we can't hit 3-pointers, 18 turnovers, only 13 assists, and when the game is only the line we did not hit FT's, and seemingly getting all our points from just two players.
we have to develop more options or else the MVC will just have to guard 2 guys...
Walt + Grier were a decent, although not overly impressive 16-32
..the entire rest of our starting five were 7-27, and only 16 pts on those 27 shots!

Prosser is the only non-guard to even hit close to half his shots and he also had EIGHT rebounds in just 13 minutes... maybe we need him playing more

Call me crazy....but if I am not mistaken...this was the 1st game of a late summer trip to the Bahamas for an exhibition tour with a roster full of new guys.

You guys are getting a little amped up...

I don't see why we should be breaking anything from this game down and making season long predictions.

I think some of you are being intentionally dramatic.

BINGO! If they only realized that sarcasm doesn't always come through in written text. Instead they come off looking out of touch with reality over a summer exhibition game.
The important part of these games is GF is getting to see how each of the guys work with different lineups.

Nice that you point that out Tornado...you know, the fact that it was UNDER Geno.

Tru dat FWO...it's just an exhibition and means little to nothing.
We have 3 games in a row - if we see the same trends, it only means they will be a point of emphasis when practice resumes to get ready for the "real" exhibition season and then to start our non-conf. schedule.

                          Not worried...not yet.

I agree. This team will probably shoot a little better than 70% from the FT line on the year, and a little below 35% from beyond the arc. If I had to guess, they'll rebound the ball a little better and play pretty good defense. Between Walt, Fields, and Bell, they'll be fine at PG. It's likely a 9-9 team that will finish somewhere between 4th & 6th place. Just my opinions, of course.

I have heard from several fans asking what happened to Auston Barnes. He was supposed to be the best of the newcomers and a likely starter. But he never played last night.
Dave Reynolds twittered that it was a suspension for disciplinary reasons>>

But today's story in the paper and the story on Bradley's website skipped around the whole story and avoided even mentioning a suspension or a discipline issue. What did he do? Why all the secrecy?

I dunno, maybe GF, DR, and BP are giving Barnes a break because it might have only been a minor violation? It probably doesn't hurt to spare embarrassing a newcomer who is going to be around for the next two years. I have no issue that DR and BP didn't report this story if they had nothing but a rumor to report. Would it have been better if GF made a statement saying AB was sat out for the game for breaking team rules but then didn't elaborate? Then people would still be curious what happened. Some stuff that happens in a locker room doesn't need to be public knowledge. This seems typical of our society now days that everyone has to know everything or else its a scandal and a coverup because of "all the secrecy".
