Good to see him playing well at SIU-E. I think he'll have a good career there.
He has the potential to be a good OVC player. Playing at the appropriate level is something that gets talked about a lot with regards to players that Bradley is recruiting. Sometimes, when players choose a BCS school, fans lament that the player chose over his head. Right now, I think DS is at the perfect level for him to have success.
I know Walt is I wouldn't say Bell is good at anything.
that's your opinion ??¦.Bell is a very good defender. He doesn't handle the ball well for sure. He was playing decent at the end of the year last year but seems to try and do too much this year which gets him in trouble. He can get into the lane for short jumpers and make an outside shot when it's not forced..He gets in trouble when taking Walt-like shots
I think it is a fair argument that, in part, what we have lacked the past 2 seasons is depth at PG - and it is part of why we have well over 40 losses in that span - DS is a PG and whether he might made a difference is a fair topic for debate -
fans have occasionally criticized the point guard status year in and year out since the Billy Wright era - when Walt goes out we can't break a press and it is why getting a PG is such a current priority

Donivine Stewart is the leading scorer for SIUE at 11.7 ppg and 3.8 apg (more than anyone on Bradley). He is shooting 44.4% on three point shots (far better than anyone on Bradley) and plays 29 minutes per game and runs the point well for SIUE. He is even averaging 3.0 rebounds per game, which is more than any of Bradley's guards, and even more than some of our big men (Prosser 2.8 rpg, Taylor 2.9 rpg)! He was the game's leading scorer last night with 17 points (4-4 on threes) in SIUE's game at Jacksonville State. Not bad for a kid that some said couldn't play Division I ball. And he is just a sophomore, and will get better, especially if SIUE can surround him with better players.
Another kid Bradley missed out on, Jared Brownridge, is having one of the best freshman seasons in all of Division I (even better than Alec Peters). He hit another spectacular game winning shot last night, scored the last 10 points for Santa Clara, and finished with 23 points as Santa Clara beat St. Mary's at the buzzer. He is averaging 16.3 ppg.

Do you know how it all went down? Maybe he didn't know at the time if DS would play or not? Maybe Geno said I don't know if you will play here or not and DS had the option then? Just because he didn't play his freshman year doesn't mean it was set in stone from when Geno was hired does it?

We'll also never know if he would have played his freshman year at SIUE either.
Can't argue .. based on reports from the time including a couple interviews and comments from Donivine - he apparently wanted to stay with Bradley if he was assured CGF wanted him and would utilize him...
Donivine knew asking out of LOI was an available option but chose to stay with his commitment based on being encouraged by what he heard.
Of course none of us knows everything but even Geno hinted at one point that DS was their best freshman guard.. "Donivine was the only freshmen in the first game who distinguished himself as ready to go."
SIUE is 3-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference, but that is good for a tie for 2nd place in the West Division of the OVC. Donivine Stewart continues to lead the team in scoring with a 11.5 ppg average. He is also leading them in several other categories- 30.6 minutes per game, 4.0 assists per game, 2.2 assists to turnover ratio, and in steals per game.
He is shooting 37.8% on three point shots, and he leads SIUE in Free Throw percentage at 79.3%.
