SIU to play in November tournament in Florida

Southern Illinois is one of the teams announced to play in a new tournament- The Gulf Coast Showcase, to be played at the Germain Arena in Estero, Florida.
Here are the 8 teams are announced- last year's record in parentheses-
Southern Illinois (14-17)
Western Illinois (22-9)
Louisiana Tech (27-7)
St. Bonaventure (14-15)
Illinois-Chicago (18-16)
University of San Diego (16-18 )
Stetson (15-16)
University of North Carolina-Greensboro (9-22)

The tournament will reportedly be played in an old-fashioned, single elimination bracket, with a consolation bracket for losing teams. Each team is guaranteed 3 games. The complete bracket has not been announced yet.

Apparently this tournament is also in a state of flux- WIU is out and Wagner is in. In addition to 3 games in Estero, Florida, each D1 team gets a D2 or D3 opponent on their home court prior to travelling to Florida.
