Best/Worst restaurant experience in Peoria area

I used to like Shakey's back in the 70's before it became a buffet. I liked watching them twirl the pizza dough. And remember the big long benches and tables?

Famous for their pizza, but their chicken was hard to beat.

I also loved Farrells at Northwoods Mall but it seemed my parents would never take me there unless it was my birthday. We did go to Hunts a lot. Great chocolate pie and strawberry pie.

Two of my favorties Lefty. Drank a few at Sky Harbor when it was by the airport. Well maybe more than a few. I could walk home from there if I had to.

What was the name of the steak/seafood place on the west side of N Knoxville past Mt Hawley Rd interchange that suspiciously burnt down in the 80's?

I thought that place had good food when I was in Peoria from 1976-78 and early 80's.... Enjoyed eating there.

I think an Insurance Company or Real Estate Company built on the property subsequent to the building burning down.

I think that restaurant was the site of the Boar's Head. It closed down and became the Rose. A fire happened right after the Christmas holidays, right after the season for holiday parties.

The Bloomington Pantagraph did a survey to find what restaurant people would MOST want in Bloomingtom that isn't already there...

Portillo's was #1 choice, Lou Malnati's was #9

Best Aggi's for pizza, Red Lobster for sea food,Lariet for steak & Ludy's for a burger.

Not fond of Olive Garden or TGIF's. So many other good places to mention in Peo.
