  • Darius Austin to announce college decision today (Tuesday 8/6/13)

2014 Bradley recruit Darius Austin is scheduled to announce his college decision today at 2:30 PM. Austin is a 6'6" guard/forward from Cahokia, Illinois that Bradley was very high on at one time.

Darius Austin info from the Recruiting board-

Dave Reynolds mentioned Bradley's continued interest in Austin a couple weeks ago-

However, I do not believe Bradley is among his finalists- I'll predict Indiana State or St. Louis, with Murray State a dark horse.

Darius Austin was not always with the Illinois Wolves (played previously with the Jets and is friends with Peyton Allen)
    - but he currently is and his Wolves AAU coach Mike Mullins just tweeted..
"ILL Wolves 2014 Darius Austin Cahokia will announce
his college decision Tuesday at 230 pm"

I am not optimistic of landing him from the Wolves program...and one of his tweets a few days ago was asking about "Indiana" - hmmmm....

hate getting beat out by Kangaroos...

their head coach Kareem Richardson is the subject of this recent interesting article on mid-major recruiting...
..and I have heard pretty much the exact same thing from Coach Mo...

#1 rule is you don't waste your recruiting time & efforts pursuing kids who HAVE a lot of talent - you presume you won't land them no matter what..

What you do is spend the time pursuing the kids who DO NOT APPEAR to have the talent but have the potential..

No offense, but, if DA seriously thinks UMKC is a better opportunity for him than BU, would we really want him on the Hilltop?

Good question. Though Bradley liked him a lot last year, and he even made an unofficial visit, as I said above, I do not think Bradley ever officially offered him.
