it doesn't cost or hurt Floyd one bit to deny giving a release - since it is so late that there's no possibility now
of filling that scholarship with anyone else...so might as well leave it assigned to Hamilton and stick to principles & force the kid to pay his own way next season.

NCAA declines to get involved - so UTEP's decision NOT to release this kid stands - thus the kid will have to pay his own way elsewhere or return to UTEP - which I suspect is doubtful given the animosity that has arisen.

Former UTEP signee Isaac Hamilton was denied a waiver by the National Letter of Intent committee and cannot play in the 2013-14 season, his father, Greg, told ESPN.com on Friday.

What's interesting is that the kid is claiming he needs to be closer to his home in LA because of illness in the family...
BUT - the kid's brother just signed a LOI to go to UConn next year - nearly 3000 miles away!
I suspect this is all about one thing .... $$
