but I strongly disagree - you'd think the writers at the PJS would at least say they are unbiased or fair - maybe even just pretend they are..
but they clearly are not - they were strongly biased against the last staff and strongly biased in favor of the current one...
and I try not to just expect you to take an opinion on that - I have given numerous links, examples, etc..

but honestly you need nothing more than KW's own soliloquy over on the other board where he admits he was biased against JL then "soured" on him in year-two and was against him thereafter...
remember, year two, JL had several leftovers who "mutinied" and declined to play his system - this was well known - and when those guys finished up Cellus was quoted as saying "now we're all on the same page"....and in 2 more years - Sweet Sixteen.

I was just talking about you saying Chico bringing up Les....he didn't...that's all. We know how you feel about the rest of it.

T, you know I'm as big a Les fan as you are, but I meant no matter who the coach has been, Ozzie, Stowell, DV, Jim M, Stan, it's always glowing reports on recruits when BU signs them.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I'm sure new recruits would love to read right after they sign with BU how they're going to be undersized, can't score, are too slow, and will ride the bench for 2 years before they probably transfer. Good luck signing anyone if the press or a message board didn't hype up a guy based on his potential.

LaMonte Bearden, who Bradley was once recruiting, now is leaving Buffalo after averaging 14 ppg, and over 4 assists.
... this is such a very unusual time to be leaving and so few schools would still have a 2016 scholarship open for him...
but there are endless rumors that he keeps failing drug tests, and was even suspended for failed tests...so I guess he reached the end of his rope.
(although there's a poss. someone at a bigger school likes his numbers and is "getting in his ear & recruiting him"
              - be interesting to see where he lands - betcha Iowa State will be in the mix)
After two strong seasons leading the Bulls at point guard, Lamonte Bearden has asked for a release and will transfer from the University at Buffalo. Bearden came to the program as an immediate...

The men’s basketball team has suspended sophomore guard Lamonte Bearden for at least Tuesday night’s game against Toledo for conduct detrimental to the team.

Back in 2012 & 2013, Brian Wardle was recruiting Bearden at Green Bay..

6'3" sophomore point guard LaMonte Bearden is originally from Germantown, Wisconsin, where he had a great high school career, and lead his Germantown HS to back to back state championships.

He was recruited to Buffalo 2 years ago by former Buffalo head coach Bobby Hurley. As a freshman, he started 31 of 33 games and averaged 8.3 ppg. As a sophomore, he started 27 of 30 games and lead Buffalo with an average of 13.7 ppg.

He was suspended last February by new Buffalo head coach Nate Oats for "conduct detrimental to the team", but it was publicly known that it was for testing positive for marijuana-

"Conduct detrimental to the team" is always a tough phrase to stomach, and even moreso in the middle of the season. Without disclosing too much, my real job is entirely centered around the...

There have been rumors of academic problems as well.

But here is why it might be significant- he was recruited by Brian Wardle at Wisconsin-Green Bay. Green Bay was one of his first offers back in April, 2013 in Bearden's junior year.
So, though Bearden is a talented player and he is well known to Wardle, with his issues (marijuana, academics) and with Bradley's lack of scholarships, I would not expect to see Bradley pursue him.

For him to suddenly be leaving in mid-July can really only mean one thing, same thing the Buffalo people suspect - that he is booted for repeated drug failure that violate his scholarship agreement and cannot be overridden any longer by any desire to keep him on the team....he had likely reached the "zero tolerance" point.
He was just a soph but was team leader in scoring, minutes played/gm, FT%, assists, Assists-to Turnovers, and steals...
They would have likely been many's preseason pick to win their conference with him returning.

Several sources are reporting that Lamonte Bearden has been released by Buffalo to 7 schools-
Miami, Texas A&M, TCU, Arizona, Wisconsin, Marquette, and Iowa State.

One has to think Iowa State is a good bet since they thrive on disgruntled transfers.

Buffalo leading scorer, Lamonte Bearden has decided to transfer to Western Kentucky.
As recently as yesterday, Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall thought he still had a good chance to lure him to Wichita State-

Western Ky also just landed an interesting player...who some reports say already 23 years old (he looks much older, although he has been able to produce a passport saying he's 21) and rated TOP 100 (ESPN has him at #48 )

A kid named Moustapha Diagne...a HIGHLY rated Senegalese big man who completed high school in New Jersey, had impressive numbers, dominated in AAU and had signed a LOI to Syracuse (Syracuse, btw, has an interesting history of taking ineligible foreign kids and CHEATING & committing fraud just to get them on the court)
But he backed out (with rumors of academic issues or transcript issues)
and went to juco (NW Florida) where he played one season and averaged 10 ppg & 7 rpg

He entered the NBA draft, then withdrew. Juco rules then prevented him from returning and playing in juco - so then he looked to get back into college.
                        But he's a non-qualifer without a juco degree.

However - Western Kentucky found a way - and Diagne will pay his own way at WKU and sit out 2016-17 and then after "one year in residence" at WKU - will potentially have 3 years left to play there.
