"Assistant Brandon Miller" was actually the assistant at University of Illinois under John Groce...somewhat briefly from last summer 'til just a couple months ago...

He was on the Illini staff from
...from May 2012 'til April of 2013.

Thats a good point. Are there any examples of college coaches having great success in the NBA in recent years? There may be more examples of failure.
Stan Albeck and Dick Versace were college coaches before going to the NBA. :-)

I would thnk that most coaches coach in the college ranks at one time or another before going to the NBA.
