A couple rule changes for the upcoming basketball season-
-Expansion of the video replay rules to allow officials to use replay to determine shot-clock violations, or determine which team touched the ball last when the ball goes out of bounds after being touched by 2 or more players in the final 2 minutes of regulation or overtime.
-Changes were made to the rule regarding video review of whether a shot was a 3-point shot
-Video review can now be used to determine who committed a foul. Previously, it was sued to determine the free throw shooter.
-Institution of the 10-second backcourt rule for NCAA women's games
-Changes were also made to the block-charge foul to favor the offensive player, and a slight change was made regarding the officials review of possible elbow fouls to the head, allowing the officials to deem only a common foul or no foul if the contact was inadvertant, instead of requiring a flagrant foul call.
In one other action by the NCAA- an associate athletic director at Wichita State was singled out for reprimand by the NCAA for misconduct prior to the Wichita State-LaSalle game in the Sweet 16 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
