Now UCF has taken it to another level with a near all-black home court meant to mimic blacktop-
In recent years, college basketball court designs have become a way in which programs can set themselves apart from the competition.

Illinois shows off their new court design - the broad area of floor that is shaded was originally going to be light orange to contrast with the out-of-bounds area dark orange..
but the current plans are more gray....

It could end looking more like this if they do the light orange....

They also have a new shield-like logo they will be using...

Northern Illinois likewise has abandoned the white or natural wood-floor look and gone to a colored floor - except it's black...

Such a dark floor makes the entire arena seem dark & dreary

anyone watch the ESPN college football game yesterday?

They had Eastern Washington - what an absolutely ugly field - really hard to watch on TV - wonder what it would be like if a team was wearing red?
