  • Rob Judson quits at ISU

resigning effective immediately with no word on where he's going or what he's doing - leaving to pursue "other opportunities"...
Quitting the only profession he has known for well over 20 years?? Is there a falling out and does Muller want someone else on his staff?

Of note is that just a couple weeks ago an official release from ISU said Rob Judson was not leaving and would continue as assistant coach next year.
Muller was excited about it and Judson was looking forward to working with Muller.
Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

Will Coach Mo find room for him at WIU?

That would be a great place for Rob. Hope that happens.

I am hearing rumors of friction between Muller and Judson over the turnover of the roster and the changing duties among the coaching staff. Jud had been the primary recruiter under Jankovich, and under Muller, Judson was doing very little recruiting.

I think most people would probably say that Paris Parham was the primary recruiter under Jankovich, though each asst did do some recruiting.

I would put quits in quotes.

It seems pretty clear to me that he was shown the door.

agreed - if he up and quit - he'd have little leverage to ask for a buyout, which ISU appears to be giving him..

Rob Judson, an ex-Bradley assistant coach, has been hired by Indiana University as the Director of Basketball Operations
He replaces Calbert Cheaney who left to join the staff at SLU with another ex-BU assistant Jim Platt.
Indiana has named Rob Judson, formerly the head coach at Northern Illinois and an assistant coach at Illinois and Illinois State, as its new director of basketball operations, Inside the Hall has learned.

That link above contains a few quotes from Jim Molinari and reference to Rob's influence building a successful team at Bradley.

                Here's something that's pretty impressive...
Rob Judson has the following as an assistant coach at the D-I level -- "a 258-148 record and a .635 winning percentage."
..wow, that is huge -- not many D-I assistants at the mid-major level can boast better....
