  • NCAA's newest academic data is released

Reported are the APR scores - ALL are MEN'S BASKETBALL ONLY - you can check elsewhere for explanation but it is the measure of academic progress towards graduation
The MVC did extremely well - almost all teams have fine reports....
except SIU who are at 904 - quite a bit lower than expected and desired - they really are at risk for penalties - but none announced yet...

Bradley right at the top - SIU the worst, and ISU 3rd worst

Men's Basketball Bradley University IL 975
    Men's Basketball Creighton University 971
Men's Basketball Drake University IA 962
Men's Basketball Illinois State University 956
Men's Basketball Indiana State University 957
Men's Basketball Missouri State University 923
Men's Basketball Southern Illinois University 904
Men's Basketball University of Evansville IN 965
Men's Basketball University of Northern Iowa 990
Men's Basketball Wichita State University 955

Some other results (remember - anything under 925 is very bad and risks penalties)

    Loyola 975
    UIC 907
    U of I 958
    Iowa State 949
    Oregon 918

a handful of schools got penalties - mostly HBCU's, Alabama State, FIU, Mississippi Valley State, Grambling, Towson, etc...

men's basketball university of evansville in 965
men's basketball university of northern iowa 990

    956 > 955, 923 & 904

This is the first time Bradley's men's basketball APR > Illinois State's men's basketball APR since 2006-2007

getting pretty hard to find anything good to boast about there, huh??

The last three seasons, ISU's APR was 3 pts, 3 pts, and 1 pt better than BU's - for all intents a virtual tie..
then this season BU is almost 20 points better - so I'd say let's just do a 4-year average which is actually the way the NCAA uses this data anyway...

Over the past four years of data BU is ahead by double digits...
and why stop at basketball - compare all sports - averaged, 990+ scores, perfect 1000's - whatever - BU blows ISU away -

Here is the 4 year average you requested.

        ISU 956 + 973 + 964 + 961 = 3,854
        4 yr average: 963.5

        Bradley 975 + 970 + 961 + 960 = 3,836
        4 yr average: 966.5

So the 4 year average is for all intents a virtual tie.

The last 4 years for all sports averaged:

          Bradley 983.1 (Competes in 15 sports in 2011/2012, competed in 14 sports in 10/11, 9/10, 08/09)

Illinois State 981.4 (Competes in 19 sports, including football)

If football is taken out of the equation, Illinois State's average would be 983.4

              Not exactly.
Your quote "Over the past four years of data BU is ahead by double digits...

Do not see BU ahead by double digits over the past four years.

Do not see 990+ averages or perfect 1000's.

Do not see BU blowing away ISU.

Must be the math they teach at BU that leads to those conclusions.

Loyola's ability to post a 975 might be one reason they were selected over UIC - who got a 907 in Men's Basketball
