Of course I'm referring to Pete Vonachen, Bradley class of 1949.

Rest in Peace Pete Vonachen. You lived a great life and gave back in so many ways. You will be missed by many. Harry Carey has his best friend back to cheer on the Cubs.

In my opinion Mr. Vonachan is a legend in Peoria sports history, and a reminder that non-athletes can have a huge role in athletics. Coaches, administrators, fans, team owners, broadcast and print media, and others can greatly influence outcomes and the enjoyment of athletics in general.
I can give no greater example of this than of Pete's dear friend Harry Caray, who certainly gave a lot of joy to many people within and outside athletics.
