interesting - when was the last time that the entire Peoria region did not have even ONE prep player who had a D-I offer?
I have seen Sorenson play and unless he has an awful summer then I think he will get a D-I offer down the road - he's perhaps a bit more versatile & athletic than Morton's Brett Bisping who landed at Siena. Sorenson, if he's gonna play away from the basket as he says he's going to have to show a reliable mid-range and 3-pt shot.
Feehan - at 6-ft and 150 lbs - won't get a lot of D-I attention but he's the kind of player that smaller schools like IWU have built a reputation on - kids like Korey Koon, Sean Johnson, etc
-
it goes in cycles....but if there's a reason that can be named it's the fact that any really good kid who has or might get a D-I offer - is identified early by people who then become advisors and tell the kid to transfer to Findlay, La Lumiere, or somewhere else...
We heard rumbles a year or two ago about a tremendous load of basketball talent that was going to be playing ball together as a freshman group at Loucks Academy - where as a "high school" they only have freshmen so the kids played only as a freshman team...
Quest is transforming the education of hundreds of students each year through a rigorous curriculum and unique “No Excuses” philosophy.
However - I have never heard a thing since so wonder what happened...
did they play a full season of games, were they good, anyone with D-I abilities, and now which high school do they go to??
The Loucks Quest Academy is qualified by IHSA to play as a high school - ex-Woodruff asst Michael Jenkins in the coach
and here's their freshman team picture and this group is entered in this summer's
Richwoods Shootout that's coming up in a couple weeks.
