SMU's Jerrance Howard has verbally agreed to an offer to become an assistant head coach at Kansas under Bill Self, sources told ESPN
If so, it is a great move. Jerrance was doing great work at SMU, but with Larry Brown close to retirement, and SMU possibly years away from real success in the Big East, he would be much better off at Kansas. Kansas assistants under Bill Self all seem to get good head coaching jobs, and Jerrance will too in the near future.
SMU has filled the assistant coach spot vacated by Jerrance Howard's move to Kansas. SMU hired K.T. Turner, an assistant coach from Gregg Marshall's staff at Wichita State.
