Since CHN came out with very widely quoted preseason rankings, I think they have biased their present rankings to
keep their preseason ones looking good.

Hot off the press here is the NEW ESPN/USA Today Poll

          Wichita State up to #10,
SIU & Missouri State getting no respect at all, and still in the "Others Receiving Votes".
Air Force beats up on a DIII and moves up 3 slots!

            AMAZING!

Every BCS conference has at least 3 teams in the polls.

            BUT....

The #2 rated conference in the RPI has only 1!

The USA TODAY/ESPN men's basketball coaches' poll should be read for entertainment purposes only. I don't think the newspaper really intends for anyone to take this poll results seriously.

Missouri State is 7-1 with it's only loss being by 3 points in OT to #17 OK St. MSU handed #9 Wisconsin its only loss so far this year and each of MSU's other six victories have been won by a margin of 13 points or more. To not include Missouri State in the top 25 shows how flawed this poll really is.

And hot off the press, the AP Poll/Top 25 was just released:

                Wichita State is #8
Missouri State and SIU just outside the Top 25
Creighton and UNI also getting votes

And within minutes, the new Coaches Poll/Top 25 is also available:

Wichita State at #10, Butler falls from 14 to #18
Missouri State, SIU, UNI, and Illinois also getting votes

And the final weekly poll out is the
College Insider Weekly Mid-Major Top 25

Wichita State is #1, Butler #2, Gonzaga #3.
Missouri State is #4, SIU #5.
                  Creighton is #10, UNI #11.
Bradley, Drake, Indiana State, Evansville, and ISU all are also receiving votes.
Pretty amazing that all 10 of the conference's members are getting votes for being in the Top 25.

3 of the top 5 spots and 5 of the top 11 spots says it all about the MVC this year

The hope is that soon the MVC will no longer be in the Mid-major rankings, but will be among the major conferences.
The only thing that holds back that change is the lack of schools in the Valley playing BCS football.

Gonzaga had another nice win to put onto the mid-major column.

Last Saturday, they knocked off Top 10 ranked Washington 97-77.

Not only did Gonzaga win but they dominated from the opening tip off.

And on top of dominating, they also toyed with Washington at times.

Gonzaga's point guard Derek Raivio absolutely schooled Juston Dentmon. Dentmon missed 12 of 14 shots and had 4 turnovers.
Raivio had 25 points on 9-17, and 4-6 from 3-pt, and had ZERO turnovers.
Gonzaga freshman Matt Bouldin had 21 points on 9-12.
Gonzaga's only losses are to Butler and Washington State.
