Barry Hinson gets a late commitment from marcus Fillyaw, a 6'1" point guard from Cloud County CC. he is a freshman with 3 years of eligibility left.
Todd Hefferman, the SIU beat writer, just posted this announcement-
Marcus Fillyaw, a freshman PG at Cloud County (Kan.) CC, verbally committed to the SIU mbb team earlier today. Averaged 6.1 apg in 31 games.
However, then Hefferman tweeted this tweet-
Marcus Fillyaw will have three years of eligibility for the #Salukis beginning 2013-14. Plans to sign NLOI Thursday. SIU got its PG.
He claims Fillyaw will sign his National Letter of Intent Thursday! But that is not likely, since the deadline for signing NLI's is midnight tonight (5/15/13).
By the way, he also got the kid's stats wrong- he averaged 7.7 ppg in 31 games at Cloud County this past season, along with 6.1 apg.
