    Van Ray Salter

    Tornado:

Since you powers of Internet capabilities are vastly greater than mine(I am very impressed with you ability to track down Dean Veenhof):

any chance you can track down what happened to:

Van Ray Salter 6'8 Orlando Fla

    or even

    John Moore 6'7 Sterling, Ill
Ed Moore 6'2 Chicago Htgs (Bloom)
    Ray Banks 6'1 Harvey (Thornton)

all of the above were among the frosh who flunked out of Bradley-a few of the above would have been stars if they stayed eligible

I always wondered what happened to them

PS Maybe this should have to sent as a PM but I thought maybe some other poster may have some insight into where these players ended up

      I'll try...

Van Roy Salter shows up as still living in Orlando and is 72 years old, but also has an older address in California..
One site shows his current home listed for sale - LINK
Other than that - I cannot find anything on Salter and his basketball career after Bradley - maybe write to him & see if he answers!

6-7 John Moore of Sterling, IL is a little harder to search because it is such a common name, but there is one great clue - because Sterling High School celebrates their past greats - they have a HOF page for 1961 grad John Moore...and have a decent bio...
he landed at NIU and went on to a fine career there before they were D-I.

NIU records show that he played at NIU in the 1963-64 season and averaged 10.6 ppg, and a remarkable 13.7 rpg - LINK
In the 1964-65 season he averaged 17.7 ppg & 12.8 rpg - LINK

Ed Moore was dismissed at the same time Strawder was dismissed - here's the actual newspaper account of that - LINK
Likewise - the common name makes a search harder - but I did find some press reports of his high school games - LINK
Chuck Westendorf came from Bloom HS roughly in that era and his father was a coach - so I suspect Westy may know a little about Moore.
In the all time scoring records of Bradley Ed Moore is credited with scoring 2 points at the VARSITY level in 1962-63 - LINK

Ray Banks - from Thornton (more) - is a player Ron Ferguson would surely recall - but again there's not much on his time after Bradley, but there is a long time school board member for Thornton HS named Ray Banks - I just cannot confirm if it is the same man. (LINK)

When I get more time I can do a little more digging...
