I think Loyola is a good pickup. Good school that is competitve plus the Chicago media market that is very strong in the midwest

I forgot to add that besides the Big Ten, the Valley adding Chicago and already St. Louis, the Missouri Valley should dominate the midwest market

they will be easily 10th in attendance over 1,000 less than SIU who is 9th in the conference.

Dozens of schools change conferences today-
It's July 1 which only means one thing, conference changes! We keep track of all the mid-major moves with our breakdown of this year's moves.

As Creighton exits the Valley and joins the Big East - they suddenly find a problem they had not prepared for...

Lot of their fans want to buy new apparel that has the new BIG EAST logo on it instead of the MVC logo...

Problem is ..nobody had prepared & gotten a running start on this stuff and the on-campus and off-campus stores that sell Creighton apparel are caught off-guard with little to offer!

"..???We had a lot of people come in and ask for apparel right after the announcement,??? he said.

Unfortunately, he said, licensing agreements made it impossible to produce any type of apparel at the time.
Even now, he said, it was tricky because the various licensing agreements were with the old conference..
???There was no (new) Big East yet, so there was some difficulty getting things licensed to sell,??? he said. ???It was definitely an odd situation."

Loyola head coach Porter Moser named former ISU student, and Redbird team manager Matt Gordon
as the new assistant basketball coach at Loyola. He is a St. Rita grad (2000) and ISU grad (2006) but worked with Porter Moser at ISU, Saint Louis, and Loyola.

I like Loyola in the MVC.
Gives Chicago area kids more reason to consider the Valley. Chicago media market
will give Valley more coverage as well. CU successful program departure is a blow come post season time, but Omaha is small media market and the area is not a hot bed for hoops..

I understand that Loyola is in the Chicago media market, but so are UIC and Chicago State, and it certainly has never meant anything there. When it comes to college basketball coverage, Loyola get 5th or 6th consideration, at best.

I think moving to the MVC helps Loyola's recruiting, but I doubt it (having a Chicago team) improves the recruiting for any other MVC team.
