He spent a season at Seton Hall, then used up his redshirt season last year while sitting out at Mississippi, after transferring. He then used up another semester this year at Mississippi.
So if he transfers to a Division 1 school, he will lose an entire year of eligibility and have just 1 1/2 years left.
He must really want to get out of Mississippi badley to take this route. Maybe he'll play at Division II, where he would not lose as much eligibility. He could play next season at Div II and have 2 years of eligibility.
This is really sad for a kid who was rated just a little behind Shaun Livingston as a point guard in the Illinois class of 2004. There was even some talk back in 2004 that he might go directly to the NBA as Shaun did, but he was not quite that good.

Check him out JL
If he's a good kid who just made quick, bad college-choice decisions due to immaturity I say go get him. This would not be much different than bringing in a Juco transfer with the 1 1/2 years of eligibilty.
Keep in mind that he transferred to Ole Miss before they hired Kennedy (who can be quite abrasive). Just another reason for kids to choose their college not just for the coach but for all of the other reasons that non-athletes choose colleges.

Justin Ceresoli has enrolled at Loyola and could be eligible to play at the semester break next year. He will have 1 1/2 years of eligibility at Loyola (unless he transfers again ).

Isn't it odd how so many kids from this class have failed to become any impact in college, now that we are 3 years down the road.
Of the top 20 kids in this Class of 2004 in Illinois,
The best in Illinois High School Basketball with hot news items, player rankings, team evaluations and much more.
I would think only Justin Dentmon, Shaun Pruitt, Tommie Liddell, Matt Shaw, and Jeremy Crouch have been much of an impact and only Shaw, Pruitt, and Crouch were actually much impact after committing and staying with their committment.
Back to Cerasoli..
First, he transferred from Providence St. Mel to West Aurora as a junior in high school, then wasn't as highly recruited as you'd have expected given lots of people thought he had a lot of potential. During his senior year he dropped from #3 rated to nearly falling out of the Top 10.
Then at Seton Hall, where they had manpower problems, Cerasoli really had every opportunity to play, playing in all 26 games, starting 16, and averaging 22mpg, 6ppg, 3rpg, 2.5apg.
Those numbers are not bad for a freshman, but certainly aren't much better than Andrew Warren is getting in only 16 minutes per game.
Then after a little problem that was publicized with his coaching staff, he left Seton Hall and transferred to Ole Miss.
He sat out an entire year, then was playing as a sophomore, but was in his 3rd college year.
You'd have thought he'd be doing better than he did in the Big East as a freshman, but not the case.
Again he seemed to have problems with the coach and did not get a whole lot of playing time.
In just seven games (there were a couple games he didn't get off the bench), Cerasoli averaged ONLY 13mpg, was 9-28 from the floor (32%), 3.5ppg, 1.1rpg, 0.8apg.
So, if anyone wants to argue whether we should go after Justin Cerasoli, then I say whoa.....not with a scholarship!
We already have a similar, superiorly talented player in Jeremy Fears.
And Cerasoli's transfer tendency bothers me.
He has been at five different schools in the past 4 years!
Loyola can have the guy for the lousy 1.5 years the kid has remaining.
I will be very surprised if he really helps them that much.

Justin Cerasoli - who graduated from Aurora West the same year as Shaun Pruitt,
has finally found a loophole and gotten himself eligible. He played his first game Wednesday for Loyola.
He shot a lot and scored 10 points, but Loyola still got hammered 60-43 by Saint Louis.
He was 5-12 and one rebound, and my prediction is that he will not be very helpful
as he has quite a history of being dismissed elsewhere for being hurtful to his team.
