  • Next BU visitor- Allen Roberts

Bradley will entertain a possible transfer this coming weekend- Allen Roberts.
He is a 6'3" shooting guard who has spent the last 4 years at Miami of Ohio. He will graduate in May, and be eligible to transfer and play immediately and have 1 season of eligibility left.
Miami had a record bad year this past season with a 9-22 record.

Here is a summary of the Miami Redhawk 2012-2013 season-

He is originally from Middletown, Ohio, where he averaged 17 ppg, 7 rpg, and 3 apg as a high school senior. As a freshman at Miami in 2009-2010 he started 16 games, and averaged 3.5 ppg. His sophomore season, he started 17 games, and scored 7.9 ppg.
He then missed the entire 2010-2011 season with a serious knee injury that required surgery.
He came back last year (2012-2013) and played well. He started 21 games and was Miami's leading scorer with 12.3 ppg. He shot an exceptional 80% from the FT line last season.
Here are his career stats at Miami, Ohio-

Late in this season, he re-injured the same right knee that caused him to miss the entire 2011-2012 season, and it was feared he would miss the MAC tournament. But he was unexpectedly cleared to play, and came off the bench for Miami's 2 MAC tournament games. It reportedly may still require surgery.

Incidentally, Roberts' departure from Miami did not appear to end pleasantly. He announced on his Twitter page he was transferring and that all his "Miami gear going in the DUMPSTER!!!!!!".
Miami's player exodus continues as a little-used center and high-producing guard leave the basketball program.

Is this all we are left with??
With all the tremendous recruiting contacts our experienced coaches have, we are left trying to fill 3 openings with a poor-shooting, injury prone guard??

And if you follow those links, they lead to this> http://arrestnation.com/2011/04/07/a...erts-arrested/
    and this> http://www.journal-news.com/news/spo...emeanor/nP2Tz/
I seem to recall a few self righteous fans getting hysterical when Taylor Brown tweeted something immature about a teacher and wanted him dismessed and the coach fired over such tiny issues, but now the hypocrites will be fine with us chasing a multiple assault offender.
From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."

And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."

Definite red flag with this kid. I will trust the coaching staff, because they must see something, but I don't see the value he would bring to the team.

Agree on red flags. If we can't get Delany or Hamilton, the value is you don't tie up a scholarship long term on a "project" that likely won't develop. There is also a value in setting up a visit that it may put pressure on Hamilton to jump on now if he's jumping.

If we miss on those two guys, he still almost certainly makes us better on paper next year adding another ball handler who can score (even if it's only as a back up). I trust Geno and staff will have to evaluate if he fits or would disrupt the team on the visit.

Bradley continues to talk with several players who have yet to commit. One not mentioned previously in this thread is Devin Carter from Lakeland in Mattoon.

At this point Bradley has one remaining scholarship to give. If both Delaney and Hamilton want to commit, there is no doubt in my mind that an additional scholarship would be freed up.

What? We had 4 scholarships open from the departing seniors (DSE, WE, JE, and MK), and 2 more from the departures of Jalen Crawford, and Shayok Shayok.
So far we have used only 4 of those- Stefan Zecevic, Michael Tucker, Jordan Swopshire, and now Chris Blake. So by my count, we should have 2 remaining scholarships. Why do you say we only have 1, am I missing someone?

maybe the staff doesn't know about his arrests?? kinda like Diamond Taylor's issues that CLo didn't seem to know about until they were being discussed on the message boards

We actually have mentioned Devin Carter-

However, Devin Carter is no longer available. He committed to Kent State.

I knew he had been mentioned in other threads. I spent specific to this thread. I did hear that he grabbed an offer from KSU. Good for him.

Allen Roberts still hasn't decided yet - he's still waiting for the right opportunity to come along..

Brian Greene, the Auburn transfer guard from Thornton who visited Bradley back in the first week of May has also not committed anywhere yet.
