To be clear, I like Geno a lot and it seems we're headed in the right direction. My only concern is that, when Geno was hired, he said that the only recruiting challenge he'd really face was getting kids to visit -- and that if he could get a kid on campus, it would be an easy sell.

It seems like we've gotten quite a few kids on campus who have left without committing. With Geno's personality and our facilities and all the upgrades, are we to think that maybe Bradley is a very difficult sell? After two decades of folly, it may be so.

Mike Shaw recently committed while he was on campus.

Yes I know. I did NOT say that ALL recruits get away without committing.

recruits are not the same as transfers...

most recruits have spent a long time looking at many places..taking visits, getting to know the staff, seeing the community, etc...
transfers are kid who already went thru this once - and usually have some place in mind even before they announce - because they don't have a lot of time to wait & look..
My guess is that Shaw already pretty much had the transfer to BU already worked out before he even announced he was leaving U of I

            I wouldn't panic until May 15th.

There will be 13 scholarship players on Bradley's roster this Fall.

old Coach - if we don't have LOI's signed until May 15 then ...

first there'll be so little talent left available at that time then we'll be battling the DII's

and second - it'll mean we've been passed over by our 1st thru 10th picks and we're working on our 11th backup plan

I wasn't suggesting that Bradley will wait until 5/15, and I doubt that they'll battle D-II schools for recruits. My point was mostly intended to indicate that there is no need to panic if Blake leaves town without giving his verbal commitment.

well, I agree with not panicking - that wouldn't do any good - but isn't that spot (the undersized post player who averages 8-10pt & 6reb) with Pross & Pickett
the one spot we need to fill the least.....

I think he'd get all of the playing time he wanted at Bradley. I'll be surprised if he doesn't end up in Peoria.
