Can't believe nobody has posted a hearty congrats to Kirk Wessler . Let me be the first to do so. Today he was named President of the USBWA in Hotlanta. That is the U.S.Basketball Writers Assoc. How lucky are we to have the Pres.of the USWBA and DR who has won several big time awards for his OUTSTANDING work covering BU basketball . Just goes to show you how far hard work and objective coverage will take you in their profession. Congrats Kirk now work on your block /charge call and you may some day be working the big game like Baywatch is tonight.

Yes , I agree he likes to make that call. I know alot of people don't like Baywatch but I knew he was gonna be way above average the first time I saw him years ago. He was young,tall,in great shape,great mechanics and not afraid to make the calls that needed to be made. Does he get them all right? Hell no but I'd take him on a big game over 99.9 % of the guys working the game. The NCAA must agree to. Tonight is the last and biggest game of the year and he is one of only 3 people still working. Something to be said for that.

One think I noticed about half way through the season was that Higgins FPG dropped significantly from his normal yearly average this year.. as in fouls called in games he refs..

I have always not liked him and sanzere because they seem to call too many hand checks and touch fouls to my liking

Alot of refs seem to call what i call,"look like fouls". They were not able to see the play completely but it sure looked like a foul so it must have been a foul

Reading DR's article on the past season I would have thought he was talking about Wichita St. - with all the praise he was handing out. I guess that is how you do it - coach them down one year and then play a weak schedule the next win a few more games and tell us we are heading in the right direction. Well I will be taking a few weeks off as my doctor does some open heart surgery on me.
I will return, hopefully, to tell the real story of flip and flop or I mean KW and DR - see you soon (I hope.)
