Reynolds:Bradley basketball 7 wins and CIT better...

7 wins better?? I don't get it, what am I missing??
Our record at the end of the regular season was 16-16 and at the end of the CIT it was 18-17 - how is that only 7 wins better than a 7-25 season?
It's nice to see the stark difference in the reporting-
where they looked for any negative thing before to report - at least now I like how nothing negative gets mentioned & now they look for the positive.
-
I'd also like to hear an explanation of where the "seven wins better" came from.
Bradley won 7 games last year, and 18 this year- that's 11 games better overall.
Even if you remove the CIT games (since the article lists the CIT separately in the title), the difference is still 7 wins vs. 16 wins - 9 wins better.
And if it's referring to the MVC record only- it went from 2 wins to 7 wins - 5 wins better in the MVC.
There seems to be no possible way to explain the "seven wins better" statement.

Dave also said-
7,411 ??” Average attendance for 15 Carver Arena games, fourth lowest in 31 seasons.
What 3 years was that better than?
And the Bradley website say the correct average attendance was 6557. Where does that rank? And why are we only parsing out certain games and ignoring the 3 least attended games?

it is pretty arbitrary - and the couple seasons that were lower were the Albeck years
I guess the question begs to be asked...if we were sooo much better, turning the entire program around, headed in the right direction, etc...why is the attendance still so low?

but likewise I have also talked with numerous fans who feel pushed out and unwanted...
the moving of games to the new campus, multiple changes from logos to TV availability of road games, and no mention whatsoever of a post-season banquet or recognition ceremony...
People wanna feel part of the program....not feel left out unless that pony up big $$

Here is what is driving many fans away, and the PJS pretending it isn't the case, and the excuses they make simply isn't fooling the Bradley fans.
check Bradley at #177 on the overall Strength of Schedule. Then look over to the right and see the Nonconference SOS #339.
There is simly no excuse for that. Ever. I didn't even know there were that many teams. As far as I can check, no Missouri Valley team has ever been that low. And I doubt any Bradley team has been within a hundred of that number in their history. All these ridiculous articles boasting of improvement and making excuses for the horrible schedule is embarrassing to see by Dave Reynolds. It's not fooling anyone. He used to be a great beat writer, but now he and Kirk are just a house boys for the Bradley folks.

OK, we all know the schedule was unusually weak, and the excuses we are seeing would not have been accepted by the press a couple years ago. But I expect it to be better next year and that is all we can focus on now. I know fans were frustrated with the poor quality of opponents, and it was reflected in the attendance for those games.
Let's focus on further improvements to the team, and the recruiting to fill the spots left by the departing players.
