  • Starting line up

Here is my starting 5 for next season

    PG: BELL
    SG: Walt
    SF: Grier
    PF: Pickett
    C: Prosser

First guy off the bench: Wells probably for Picket who is in foul trouble

There is a long way to go but ya know just staring at the roster and even with the question marks.......new guys..... w/ the right guys developing the right way I think I see where Geno is going w/ this and I like it not the distant future but 2013 2014 baby its gonna be FORD TOUGH!

This is a nice bunch of guys, but that is a small lineup, and doesn't appear to have enough scoring or rebounding, IMO. I would see Fields likely starting at PG, not Bell, and I am still hoping for another new name to fit into there either at the center or SF position.
And I hope Nate keeps developing, but 6th man?

Where do you think that lineup would finish in next year's MVC?

That line-up would be another Thur night game in St. Louie. Don't see that being the starting line-up at all. At least two different starters maybe three. Walt and Pickett for sure than likely Fields at the PG. I also think Grier has a chance to start.Other two spots may not have comitted yet.Least I hope so. I'm thinking maybe TH and DD. I can dream can't I.

I was hoping between SZ, JS, MT, and Grier we could find a SF. Center concerns me though, do you think DD can play the three spot? Also do you think Hamilton could come in and start at the 5 right away Da Coach?

Of course, I have not seen Hamilton play. But I have talked to people who have seen him play (an AAU coach in Chicago), and they think he is far from being able to contribute right away.

            Here is mine:
            PG: Fields
            2G: Walt
            3G: Bell
            PF: Pickett
Center: Prosser for now but is wide open.

So many different variations with what we know and what we hope for. Swapshire is very good, and they all can shoot better than what we had in the past. I think Delaney will work in somewhere, not sure where yet. Geno has a nice problem to figure out

Ouch. I really hope we can do better than this for our top 6 next year. If not, this lineup will be battling with UIC and ISU for 10th place and we'll see more empty seats next year than ever. The fool in the mask and cape might be the only fan left if this is the lineup.

Think I'll wait until we see who else Geno brings on board.

Bell finished the season strong so I am not willing to give Fields the Job if its his thats fine too I like having BEll and Fields to work with as true PG'. Walts a shoe in and Picket same as this yr prolly gonna be the best inside guy, think TP got no workouts in last season now Geno and co have the workouts and facilities to improve him and hes a beast now! Grier might be the best thing we have going next yr so I dont think hes playing himself out of the lineup, Prosser or Wells will start in the middle w/ the other one as first guy off the bench. I think we are looking at NOT playing thurs next yr!

6th at worst but I dont think were playing 7 to 8 guys all yr either I think we 10 maybe 11 deep barring injuries! I guess If Delaney or Blake come maybe one of them Takes the 4 or 5 w/ picket being the other hmmmmmm then the bench gets better w/ Pross and Wells just being big and strong should be impactful! Pross needs a big yr next yr ..... Hes looked great down low and hes looked bad down low so I say he Has a BIG SR yr its now or never for him!

and remember several teams played tough including us & SIU against Wichita this season...
...now under the 2 min mark - the talent difference between the Shox & Cards is starting to show

                            Mexico,
That is a good lineup. Still think the center will be open for somebody to win.

The problem with this lineup is who can make a three? Delaney and Fields are not suppose to be shooters at all from what people have said, Lemon is not considered a three point shooter, and Pickett and Prosser are hardly jump shooters at all. That looks like a lineup that would be zoned all day long.

I think with the strong possibility Fields and Lemon will start, the three spot has to be someone who can make a three point shot. Grier or maybe Zecevic if he is ready? Some of the articles indicate MT and JS are decent shooters, but I have no idea or knowledge as to how ready SZ, MT, or JS will be so I'd almost have to go with Grier even though it gives us a smaller lineup, because he is D1 experienced and can make a three point shot. DD can be a 6th man type player.

I'd also like to get someone who can challenge JP and NW for minutes at the 5 spot, maybe even start by the conference season? There is nothing to indicate this will happen though.
