Here is a nice list of available transfers. This list contains about 100 already, and will likely grow to 400-500-

Purdue Center Sandi Marcius is leaving and transferring and is eligible immediately...

he yet another example of the overhyped La Lumiere/& other prep school kids who aim too high and then never play... but...
he'd be a decent guy at a mid-major and he's looking for playing time!

He would be great for us.

If he likes Painter, however, I wonder if that may hurt us. I've heard there is a rift between the Keady/Weber/Painter group, and the matta/Miller/Groce/Stevens group. I'm guessing Ford is fairly close to some of the later guys based on where he grew up and Dustin.

Marcius is a big kid with decent post skills. He played very little because of the emergence of freshman big man A.J. Hammons, but IMO if he transferred to the MVC, he would be possibly the best big man in the league next year (with McDermott, Carmichael, Hall, and Echenique gone). But I do not think there is any connection with anyone on our staff, so I don't see this happening for Bradley (maybe Paul Lusk at MSU who worked under painter?).

Speaking of big men in the MVC- as noted, there aren't many good big men returning next year- The 7 of the top 8 rebounders are gone, and few good rebounders return.
Here is the list of top rebounders from this past year, and note how few are returning and how few are post players-

Probably the top 5 post players returning are Seth Tuttle (UNI), Seth Van Deest (Drake), Egidijus Mockevicius (Evansville), Justin Gant (Indiana State), and Jordan Prosser. Not nearly as impressive a list as in past seasons.

if Marcius is unhappy with his play under Painter - then maybe he'd want to play for someone completely unconnected...
which oddly - might explain the the early rumor on where he's headed is BUTLER -- a remnant of Thad Matta's past

An interesting dilemma has arisen in the case of Purdue's Sandi Marcius. He has announced his intention to leave Purdue with 1 year of eligibility left, and transfer elsewhere. But in order to be eligible to play 1 more season elsewhere, he needs to graduate from Purdue (the 5th year rule only applies to post-graduate students). But he is a few credits short of graduating and needs to take summer courses at Purdue to complete his degree and graduate. But Purdue is not under obligation to extend his athletic scholarship through the summer, since he chose to quit the team and leave Purdue. It has caused some criticism directed at Purdue for not paying for Marcius summer courses so he can transfer and play at another school. But I don't think Purdue should be responsible for this.
