The reason this news is relevant to the MVC is that this kid was one of the juco targets that Illinois State coach Dan Muller was hoping to land to fill the numerous open scholarships he has now created by several players leaving, and his void at point guard.
Devin Brooks, a 6'2" point guard from Iowa Western Community College, just committed to Creighton, who will graduate their top assist man, Grant Gibbs. Brooks averaged 15.9 ppg, 6.6 rpg, and 5.6 assists per game, and he shot 32% from the three point line.
Southern Illinois was also recruiting Brooks and has offered him.
