So unless someone else leaves, which NW is the only one that would even seem possible since there are 6 new guys, 3 seniors, and KB left on the roster, is CB our priority over Hamilton or Carter assuming the other opening goes to DD? I would really like to get a 5 man like Hamilton. Is Carter in the picture at all?

I do not think Carter is as much "in the picture".

So is it basically Blake or Hamilton for the last scholarship if DD commits?

That's the way I understand it. I believe we'd take the first to commit, with the other scholly for DD.

If it is Blake, who at 6-6 I would have to believe, despite his supposed rebounding skill is more of a PF than a center, JP and NW need to step up big time at the 5 next year. I really hope the staff can develop them this year.

JP has the potential to be much better than the second half of this year, and at 7-1 they have to get something out of NW. Because after JP leaves, it is unlikely for a Valley team to get an instant post contributor at the 5 spot, so we'd have to play either NW or forwards at the 5 spot after next year. Maybe even this year. And most of our forwards seem more perimeter oriented outside of TP who is also leaving after next year.

JP has the potential to be much better than we've seen from him every year.
It's a shame he hasn't panned out, and his PT will likely not jump for his senior season. I was really hopeful for this kid, who has a great attitude and work ethic, and I'm sure a pleasant personality. He just hasn't shown to be tough mentally on the court, nor very confident.

From the outside-looking-in my preference would be Hamilton/Delaney with the last 2 rides....really need help @ the 5 IMO!

His playing time has to go up by default at this point. We don't have anyone else to play the 5 spot except NW. And based on playtime this year it doesn't appear NW will leap frog JP on the depth chart. Even if we land Hamilton, hopefully he'll contribute right away, but post players usually need a little time to develop. So who else can we start at the 5 at this point?

I agree Big Mike, but then again the staff would know way more than I do.

I still think NW can develope over time with a chance to play in games....JP cannot play heavy minutes, not his m-o, defense wise would like to think NW can get some blocks and throw them elbows at someone other than his own mask-wearing teammates!

I sure hope he can, that would help a lot. Who do you think will be our starting 5 next year? TH (if he comes here), NW, JP, or do you think we will start 3 guards, 2 forwards? In which case TP would technically be our 5 I guess?

Its too early for me to guess....lets wait and see who really ends up here and then I'll guess! SZ will be here for sure, both MT and JS transferred school mid-year, always a concern as far as core classes from high school getting into BU! I'll go out on a limb for next year.....AF --pg, WL-2, TP-4! thats it for sure until we see what happens signing day!

Haha you're right, my concern about the post is just causing me to be impatient.

Carter just committed to Wichita State. I don't how they have the time to be recruiting when all their coaches are in Atlanta. But their record of success with jucos was an obvious advantage for them.

BTW, Darius Carter was a top target of ISU Coach Dan Muller with all the open scholarships he has. Wonder if they might turn their attention to Deshawn Delaney?
