What is unusual is to see a pattern each year where most of the previous recruiting classes of the coach that did recruit them are sent packing. Is anyone else concerned? Do we want to build a program with mostly jucos and transfers?
Seemed to work on the sweet 16 team. 4 key players were juco and 1 transfer (Marcellus) that was Les's 4th year as well I REALLY like what Geno is doing by bringing the type of players he wants. I will pass judgement after he has everyone of his own choosing on the roster

And not done in a hurry to fill the roster (i.e. Crawford, Shayok...)

I am not concerned when I see on our roster 3 new freshman recruits in SZ, JS and MT...along with Wells, Bell that are 4 year players and then Grier and Fields with 3 years to play and with the transfers they will have been with the team a year...

7 of 12 will be 4 year players and 2 will be 3 year players...having a couple of Juco kids would not hurt IMHO..

        No concern...

Just get the best players available. What's the difference if they are JUCO, transfers, or high school? Most players help the most in their junior and senior years anyway.

No concerns here. Don't care what they are. Just win . We will start winning when we finally recruit over what we have in the program. Something we weren't doing and it seems like we are starting to do it. Think we're going to love this recruiting class when it's done.

Actually I agree with you. But remember that at one time there was hysteria over this approach

You win with them and they herald you as "knowing how to find the pieces that fit the existing fabric of the team." You lose with them? "Too many jucos."

A little better scouting (luck) and it can go either way.

Remember DV's 2nd year. No one cared where they came from, they, along with JJ, just turned the program around. Only problem was the program became too successful for certain people.
What part of illegal don't you understand?
