Jim Molinari gets NABC Coach of the Year Award

the awards are given by District - Jim Molinari wins the Division I District 12 Coach of the Year award - basically our area..

more kudos for Coach Mo... as highlighted by an article from this morning - at their post-season awards...
they noted that WIU ranked #1 in the entire nation (D-I) in fewest fouls per game an amazing stat when you consider they do play an aggressive man-to-man defense..

they also ranked #2 in scoring defense at 53.6ppg allowed
#12 in all of D-I in 3-pt FG% at 39.1%
#33 nationally in FG shooting 46.6%
#35 in fewest turnovers
they also had a lot of individual awards and will have to replace two assistants

Their 22 wins is most ever since WIU went D-I, they were 12-2 at home, had their best single game attendance in nearly 30 years, and best home average in 15 years

Well deserved to a terrific human being! We were at the Itoo pre-season gala one year and we were leaving. Jim was coming back into the building and he stopped a friend and I and asked where we were from, what we did for a living, and had a great conversation about BU basketball. So happy to see him have success again. Great job Mo!

I always a great talk with Coach Moliari at the ITOO pre-season gala. Wish we still had that event, but guess it was too successful and well liked to continue.
