  • FIVE-Star recruit to Georgia State

Georgia State is getting it done with recruiting but can they get it done on the court??
remember - they landed Markus Crider who Bradley was after, and in the last couple years they have also landed 4-STAR Brandon McGee
(from Indiana, that Bradley was also after), and several other 4-Star & 3-Star kids & McDonald's nominees!!!
(RJ Hunter, Kevin Shaw, Tony Kimbro, Jr, Harold Doby...most of whom have 'moved on')

Ryan Harrow, a FIVE-STAR kid from Marietta, Georgia, who is currently at Kentucky - will leave and transfer to Georgia State..
he will petition the NCAA to be able to play right away claiming family issues..

It was an opportune swipe for Georgia State. Harrow was the scapegoat for John Calipari, so he could maintain the farce that he "can actually coach" and that this horrible season wasn't his fault.

Kind of pathetic on the UK front, but good for Harrow and Georgia State, as Harrow wouldn't have played next year anyway.

any kid who makes it past his freshman season at UK and doesn't jump to the NBA Draft - has to know he'll be recruited over...
and that even though Cal has a few 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year guys - he rarely uses them except in emergencies when his starting freshman go out with injuries..... they usually languish as reserves --

Maybe kids will see this and stop salivating for a UK offer...

Harrow's situation is a bit interesting. He wasn't initially recruited to UK. he played a year at NC State, and then transferred to UK. NC state fans didn't particularly care for him as I remember, and were pretty excited he was going - not to mention they had good guards coming in, including Rodney Pervis.

So as Cal is forcing him out, if he didn't transfer some place close to his family for 'Health Reasons', he'd have to sit out another year (losing another year of eligibility) as he wouldn't be able to petition the NCAA to play immediately. As recently as two weeks ago, he was planning to return to UK next year to win a championship - but by all accounts Calipari had no interest in renewing his scholarship.

Another kid who was formerly way overrated - and that was once rated 5-STARS and went to UCLA - now transferring down to DII
