I give you credit, you are masterful at providing factual, yet misleading information.

Paul Lusk was hired at Missouri State one week after Geno Ford was hired here, however he was already a part of the staff there. Both Dorian Williams and Christian Kirk were recruited (with Lusk's help) by Conzo Martin and had signed LOI's prior to Lusk being hired. Ignoring that it's easier to continue recruiting as part of a staff that had been successful, let's compare what Lusk has brought in.

Both guys have one JC guy that has contributed heavy, Downing vs Pickett, I'd say that's a wash. He did take two freshman while we took transfers in last years class, but I'm more than happy to put Fields, Greer and Bell up against Gavin Thurman and Marcus Marshall.

Both guys have put together similar classes for next year to this point. I'm excited to see how ours is rounded out, but he's been setting up for the next two year, he knows that is what will get him and extension, or fired.
Sorry, but you have some wrong info.
Paul Lusk had been an assistant coach at Purdue for 7 years before being hired at Missouri State. He never worked at Missouri State prior to that, and of course, had nothing to do with recruiting Williams and Kirk. He did make it a priority to re-recruit both of them and keep them committed to MSU, unlike a lot of new coaches who prefer to let recruits have their release and go after their own recruits.

alczervik - sorry - you are clearly the one with bad factual info
Paul Lusk was hired AFTER GENO WAS HIRED BY BU - and he came from Purdue -
Here's his bio - he had never worked a day in his life at Missouri State prior to April 1, 2011
Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

You are correct. When I looked at the dates to see he was hired within a week of Ford (essentially the same time) I saw the reference to his experience with Martin, but misread that it was at Purdue.

I am wrong on that point for sure. I still think it's easier to replace a coach that has moved to greener pastures on his own, but the situation isn't really that difference. I still think the factually correct statement that he was hired after Ford is a little misleading since they were hired a week apart.

I'm sorry for my error and accusation from that part of it.

that's OK -- Im not trying to use Lusk to prove a point - really logically it's not good to use examples to prove a broader point - otherwise we'd all fall for those ads that show the lottery winner on TV..
just as an example that if the playing time is there - players will come -- unfortunately any potential recruit might look at Bradley's stats and say...
"whoa look how miniscule the minutes were for the Bradley freshmen"
..Bell got just 9 mpg, Wells 4 mpg, and the sophs also got little...

Not worried about getting more freshmen for next year. We already have three freshmen committed. I hope any future commitments are jucos.

I really don't care who was hired first. I care more about if the people Geno brings in finishes ahead of what Lusk brings in. If I was a recruit I'd look at what we were losing and what we have coming back and if I couldn't get minutes here I'd look elsewhere.I can't believe the two already signed ,the two sitting out and the names we're hearing ,if we can sign them, wouldn't be a MAJOR up grade to our current roster.

Rivals did an article several years ago and interviewed as many of the Rivals 150 as they could and listed the different reasons that a kid would select a certain program..

You'd think pre-existing loyalties or instate program or favorite program when growing up or the place the kid would want to get his degree from would top the list but - not the case..

                The TOP TWO reasons were...
-chance for immediate playing time - to be a contributor right away...
so if a kid sees that freshmen just don't play he might be leery...
-chance to be at a successful program that gets to the NCAA...we need to get there again and build on it...

some of the other reasons varied according to how high of a recruit the kid was......some of those were
-chances of being on TV - we gotta work on this one
-favorite program or the program they grew up wanting to go to - here's a tough uphill battle - we oughta at least fight hard for the local kids like Alec Peters
-style of play - I think we have plus on this one
-friendliness of staff or other players/personality of the coach - plus
-they have my major - gotta get a PE major!!!
                -living/practice facilities - recent upgrade
-because some AAU teammates or friends going there - work on this one with Chin
-they were the only one who offered or the best among my offers (for the lower rated kids) - keep beating the bushes!

This is an important piece of the pie to me as I am very interested in BU TV games past and present. Our TV package this year was a mess, but it at least showed the powers that be tried to make something out of nothing. TV ratings probably ebb and flow the same way the attendance does. If we play meaningful games, the people show up. Probably the same with TV.

I appreciate BU efforts to get as many away games on TV as possible. Home games aren't as big of a deal. I have no problem with a local TV blackout to get a larger crowd. Force fans to either buy a ticket or subscribe to BUtv.

And just as we are competing with more entertainment options for ticket sales, you are obviously competing with more TV channels for ratings points.

I've said for a long time that ESPN was the reason some schools, like Bradley, lost their power status and the Eastern schools became powerhouses. While in the service in the early 60's I saw Georgetown and George Washington play at Ft. Myer gym in front of less than 1000. ESPN came along and all of a sudden the likes of Georgetown became powerhouses.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

No disagreement, but my concern, being out of the area, is that having more local/regional TV coverage would result in the internet stream being blacked-out. Whatever additional TV coverage is obtained should not sacrifice the internet feed accessibility for those of us that have no way to obtain a TV feed any other way.

And while I am on my tirade, is there any opportunity to move to a stream provider other than NeuLion? I think all of us have experienced the frustration of stream/audio issues, and the inability to watch on anything other than a computer. I'm fine with paying for the stream, but don't make me feel like I am getting ripped off!
