  • Big East going down painfully

In the last season of the Big East as we know it before it implodes and gets re-incarnated -- the basketball schools might want to rethink using the name "Big East"...
because it might just be developing a reputation for tanking games to lower seeds...
The Big East - save for a few members who got pretty favorable seeds, are dropping like flies...

First UConn was ineligible (as yet another of their players gets arrested) to compete anywhere in the postseason but then as bad as they were they didn't deserve to - then St. John's does go to the NIT & lost to a mid-major
The Cincy goes down to Creighton
Pitt gets humiliated by Wichita State
Georgetown is hapless against tiny FGCU
Notre Dame gets totally pummelled by Iowa State
    Villanova goes down
Marquette needs a miracle to get by Davidson

    big east overated.

I've maintained year after year after year that the Big East gets multiple bids and then consistently loses the majority of their games in the first round. It amazes me....

It always will be about the $. Big East=big viewing audience, big population, big ratings and big BS. we saw this as far back when we got snubbed by the ncaa election committeewith the NIT championship team basically blew through the tourney
