hard to decipher that there's a game going on between all the crap the announcers are whining on and on about...trying their best to make the whole show all about them
geez- the Pitt guy clearly threw an intentional elbow and cleared out by making contact with Baker's jaw - the flagrant was well deserved...
but Gottlieb spent 15 minutes blubbering about the rule and the call...and they have spent another half hour talking about the dueling pompadour coaches instead of actually noticing the game going on
Gotleib is horrible!! You can here it in voice he wants Pitt to win..He keeps making refernce to mid majors..
he's also a bozo when it comes to reality...
this game has been a 12-16 pt drubbing all day and yet he acts like it's a nail-biter --like Pitt is a great team hanging right there with 'em...
When WSU went up 16 with 1:20 left - he goes - "that might just do it"...and Wichita is "a fairly strong program out of the MVC"...
I have believed since last fall that the top two teams in the Valley can play with those big boys....
Guess the Valley isn't as down as a few people on here think. Way to go WSU. Hope you keep it going. Didn't our last place team SIU go into WSU and whip em. Boy were we down.
wily - I have said since last fall that the top two Valley teams are good enough to play with anyone - the rest of the Valley is way down
It has indeed turned out that way as even our 3rd best team was not strong...

T I agree with you that we had 2 teams who can play with anybody but don't think the rest of the league was as bad as your trying to make it out to be. Has the league as a whole been stronger in years past. Yes probably but I think our last place team won what 5 or 6 games including at WSU who is good enough to play with anybody and correct me if I'm wrong but 6 teams where in the post seasons tourneys and it would have been 7 had ISU not turned down their bid. Didn't we even beat the 3rd place team. So I agree with you about only having two really good teams but the other 8 could beat anyone including WSU and CU on a given night. Next year could be another story if our league does not have a good recruiting spring with all the Srs. in the league. If we can sign the 3 names I'm hearing it's gonna be good times again at Carver. Get er done Geno.

I'd agree with that statement. People confuse parity with strength in sports too often. The bottom 8 of the league were all equally average teams and a step down from WSU and CU.
