  • Ball State wants to talk to Jim Molinari about coaching opening

Ex-Ball State assistant and current WIU head coach Jim Molinari is a hot commodity on the coaching carousel.... his name is coming up even before he finished out his season with his Leathernecks.

Ball State just fired Billy Taylor and now there are reports that Ball State wants to hire Jim Molinari....or at least interview him...
The have also reportedly contacted Michigan State assistant Dane Fife, Northwood's Jeff Rekeweg, and University of Southern Indiana (& ex-SIU asst) Rodny Watson just to be sure they don't anger the diversity folks.
Other names mentioned - Stan Gouard (Univ. of Indianapolis & SIUE), Scott Nagy (S. Dakota State), Saul Phillips (N. Dakota State), Jeff Neubauer (EKU), and a couple of the Purdue assistants - Greg Gary, Micah Shrewsberry

What do you mean regarding the diversity folks? Fife, Rekeweg and Watson are all caucasian.

I know - just sarcasm - they are all white - so why is Bradley the only school anyone ever questions about diversity in hiring - here we have case of the top 6 or 7 candidates all being white -

Has Bradley ever had an Afro American head coach? I don't think they have. What about other sports at Bradley? I honestly don't know. Could that be where the pressure might be coming from?

The reason the folks at Ball State probably aren't questioning the diversity thing because the coach they are replacing is Afro American.

Aren't all sports offered in college team sports? Sure there are individual events (wrestling, gymnastics, track & field, golf, etc), but in reality those are team sports, right?

                    Oh to answer your question:

                    Men's track
                    Women's track

LOL - Men's & women's track have but one coach between them - so your answer is one -
anyway - his name is Elvis - so if we count our Elvis then we win...

I didn't know this was a competition. I counted Forde twice because he is technically the head coach of both teams. Indiana State for example, has 2 seperate coaches for their Men's track and field team and their Women's track and field team.

Any way, we are straying off topic. I have no idea why the diversity thing comes up with Bradley basketball. Just throwing out some possible reasons.
