  • 10 reasons to free up your calendar on March 20 and be at Renaissance Coliseum

Unless you already had plans to vacation on the beach in Florida with your family - then you have no excuse - you have to be there to support Bradley in post-season play!

Here are TEN reasons - not necessarily in order of importance..

    1) Just because it is a Bradley home game - that's really all you need. Everyone who even dreams of calling themsleves a Bradley fan should be there to support our guys!

    2) Watch Walt Lemon, Jr. - Bradley's newest career 1000 Point Club member - add to his totals...
he is on pace to finish his Bradley career with more than 1600 points - which will put him in contention for TOP 10 career scorers at Bradley (Andrew Warren is currently 10th at 1621)

    3) Watch Dyricus Simms-Edwards add to his all time Bradley single season record of 84 steals ..Dyricus can also build on his career 1214 points which currently places him 29th on Bradley's career scoring list - but with just a couple games of scoring his average - he'd potentially vault all the way up to ~25th and tie Curtis Stuckey - who holds the BEST career scoring record at Bradley of all time (24.5 ppg)

    4) Keep the streak alive - Bradley has never lost a regular season game at Ren-Col (2-0, but don't ask about exhibitions)

    5) The popcorn is great and they have Skittles

    6) With just a couple more assists (just needs two) & rebounds (needs 8 ) - Jake Eastman will finish his career with 500 pts, 400 rebs, 200 assists, 80 steals, & 20 blocks..only a handful of BU players have done this..

    7) Watch Will Egolf in the 202nd Bradley game that's been played since he joined the team. I know of no other player who has been a member of the Bradley Braves for more games than that ...
and if you want to check Sam Singh - he was a Bradley Brave for 201 games - currently a tie with Will...
obviously neither guy played in all of them but they were part of the team for all those games.

8 ) Undoubtedly Bradley holds an advantage when it comes to bids for some post-season tournaments like this one...because of Bradley's tradition of having a LARGE, supportive, and loyal fan base...so we NEED to keep up that tradition because even future tourney bids could be harmed if we have a lousy turnout! #CramtheColiseum

    9) This just might a chance for Geno to play the younger players and I would like to see more of Jalen, Nate, SS, Ka'Darryl, etc..

    10) UW-Green Bay is a team that's a good matchup for Bradley..
They're better than UIC who gave us a tough test, and they have some interesting players.
Sultan Muhammad is from South Suburban College - he hit their game winner to get them to their tourney semi's 64-63 over UIC.
Bradley looked at him but passed as he was a 5-11 SG - but he's a 39% 3-pt shooter..
Their 2nd leading scorer is a 7-1 lanky guy, Alec Brown, who is a lot like Nate Wells - he was sparsely recruited but when given the chance & a couple years to develop, can play!
Brennan Cougill is an ex-Iowa Hawkeye who's pushing 300lb - LINK - so you'd better hold on strong to your hot dogs
Their best player, Kiefer Sykes, is pretty good and was a McDonald's All American nominee - currently scoring 15.8 ppg, hits over 44% from 3-pt, and has 141 assists!
He basically makes their whole team run and is their MVP.
Ex-ISU Redbird Terry Johnson is NOT at UW-GB any more - and oddly neither is Kam Cerroni - an ex-BU recruit who was one of their best shooters
(48% from 3-pt!!) but he left the team.
Finally - one of their assistants is ex-ISU asst. Brian Barone - son of ex-BU head coach Tony Barone - so it's maybe a GREAT time
to have someone at BU issue an OFFICIAL INVITE to Tony Barone and family and have them in attendance for this game!!!

During Will's time on the Hilltop, my oldest son has gone from middle school (7th grade) to preparing to sign a letter of intent to play college football this fall at Eureka.

Sorry, but I think my reasons for not being there trump being on the beach in FL with the family...

            1. Already scheduled for a 4-12 pm shift on the fixed schedule.

            2. 8-9 hour drive each way.

            3. Wedding anniversary, and wife is not much of a b-ball fan (but she is from the Green Bay area).

But at least hopefully the Braves can win for my birthday (yes I got married on my birthday).

              1. Call in sick
              2. Start out early
              3. Not sure why this is a problem ...
              Braves win-perfect bday present
No need to thank me. Glad to be of service.

                      Update...review of our 10 reasons...
1- check - plenty (but could use more) great fans showed up and helped BU to a win
2- check - Walt played great and on pace for 1600+
3- check - Dyricus is a great fan favorite - and he (and Walt) are adding to their records
                      4- check - now we're 3-0
5- check - popcorn was good - maybe a little dry and I saw something I have never seen at RC - in the private rooms they had beverages that are not generally seen at on-campus events
6 and 7 - check Jake & Will both reached their milestones - Jake got 2 asst & 13 rebs!
8 - check - but need more crammed in on Saturday
9 - check only partially - Ka'Darryl played 20 minutes the longest stint this year but nobody else got much playing time
10 - GB challenged us but we can't wait 'til the final 6-8 minutes to win games - let's bury Tulane early!

NOW - for a Ten Reasons list for Round TWO
                      1 - 'cuz it's a Bradley game at home
2 - Tulane brings back memories for us oldies of the last post-season game held in the old Fieldhouse - in fact- the last D-I opponent we ever hosted in the Fieldhouse
This season's Tulane team has had a big time habit of falling behind by 12-19 points then rallying to win - they have done this six times and just knocked off Houston after making up a 19 pt deficit in the final 8 minutes!!!
3 - it's a matchup with a similar non-BCS conference (CUSA) and we need to win these games!
4 - their 6-8 junior Josh Davis is coming off a 26 pt/13 reb performance!
5 - now we are in the SWEET SIXTEEN of yet another tournament!
6 - we still have a chance to hit 20 wins and irk the he** out of Kirk Wessler
7 - it's at least 5 more fouls that Will can either burn or avoid!
8 - I still wanna beat someone bad enough to get some playing time for the younger guys
9 - If you wanna know about the Tulane Green Wave here's a link to their game notes for their last game - LINK
10 - Lastly - their YahooSports page says they are advancing in the CIT to play Youngstown State on Sunday and not Bradley - or just maybe they are looking past the Bradley game?
FoxSports likewise says Youngstown is their next game and NOT Bradley!

Those 26 points and 13 rebounds Josh Davis had last week were the quietest 26/13 you'll ever see. It was the Memphis Phi-Slamma-Jamma routine that was memorable in that one...dunk after dunk after dunk.

Tulane also likes to blow big leads...they led Tulsa by 17 at home this year, then blew the whole lead and fell behind, before rallying late to win. Then at Tulsa, they led by 20 at half, and by as many as 22 early in the 2nd half, before falling completely apart and losing by 12.

For some reason, Pomeroy also has Tulane playing Youngstown State next, and Bradley playing Rider.

HOWEVER - both the BRADLEY ATHLETIC WEB SITE & the TULANE SITE say it's TU at BU
