  • Another answer: Add denver, belmont, & loyola

This brings the mvc back to parity with 6 privates and 6 publics.

Brings 3 major television markets to the conference and 3 excellent academic schools.

Heck, we could even add ncaa sanctioned hockey and be losing to the university of denver 20-0 (after the 1st period).

Elgin may be way too simple and hate realignment to try to add 3. Take one step, then the 2nd, and then the 3rd. Its that easy. But wait, he doesn't decide....ITS THE UNIVERSITIES PRESIDENTS....

On adding Ice Hockey, I know part of our lack of a football team is Title IX, but I don't quite fully understand it. Wouldn't adding hockey as a (men's) only official sport be an issue? We could always do what Vandy did and take down the Athletic Department hehehe
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

You got it DaCoach! Strong academic profiles in great media markets. Denver has more ncaa championships than all mvc schools combined. Would make a great vacation trip. Beautiful, but bring your oxygen

Basketball plays second fiddle to hockey at DU. Why in the world would you add any school where basketball isn't the primary focus?

IMO, Denver's basketball program is one of the stronger ones among the private school being considered. Belmont might be a better choice if they would consider the MVC, but Denver is not a bad one.

Denver is 20-8, 15-2 in the WAC. They have a 59 RPI- better than anyone in the MVC other than Creighton and WSU.

Just in the slim case that Bradley doesn't get accepted into the Catholic 7 conference (), we had better be making contingency plans, and adding another private school to the MVC would be the best option.

Summit League commissioner Tom Douple says Denver informed Missouri Valley they will stick with Summit and not replace Creighton in Valley.

interesting - they turned down a jump upwards to a better conference - and have their answer on a Saturday afternoon without even convening a board meeting?
I wonder what their reason is?

If this is an "official response", then it suggests the MVC did indeed contact them about their interest in joining the MVC. If so, it's likely other schools have been contacted, like those mentioned Belmont, Loyola, ORU and maybe others, and they must be giving it more consideration.

Not sure I really like the way the MVC is handling this. Its a little Politburo. All by the MVC. Animal House Kevin Bacon scene: "All is Well".

Kind of like an Infomercial on TV. The best product ever!!!!

I prefer realism.. To Hear is the good news and the bad...I can make my decision based upon all the 'information' or facts that I am given.

                      Slap of the hand MVC!!!!!!
