Watching the Fox Network baseball game this afternoon, I notice they are heavily promoting their new all-sports network Fox Sports 1 that will debut August 17.-
Find your FS1, FS2, and FOX Sports Regional Network channels and frequently asked questions. Sign up to get programming news and info from FOX Sports.
along with the new sports network by NBC and CBS, I think sports fans will welcome a the new all-sports national networks that will give broader and better sports coverage. ESPN has gotten too full of themselves with their coverage of only a few selected sports, and their features, and their tendency to ignore most teams west of New York and Boston.

Originally posted by Chico View PostJust being Fox will make it better. As for ESPN, I'm glad they are around because we get more sports and don't have to watch the trash on regular TV, but when they came along it started the demise of basketball programs like Bradley.
And then again, I could be completely wrong.

If ESPN, Fox, NBC and CBS are all looking for sports programming, it could eventually lead to better deals and exposure for us and others. The key to that would be to maintain our spot within the Top 10 conferences and make some noise in March. Would that be enough to lead to us benefitting? I don't know. But if a battle for content develops, we could find ourselves, along with the A10 and WCC as being beneficial to someone needing more product.

if we really want the St. Louis market - we need to add Saint Louis Univ. or SIUE..
SLU could have been a really great replacement for Creighton had it been workable...
It still could happen at some time down the road - as the A-10 is in a little decline with the recent loss of four of their top members, Xavier, Temple, Butler, Charlotte..
if the football playing members (Davidson, Dayton, Duquesne, Fordham, UMass, URI, Richmond) choose to go elsewhere - Saint Louis may yet be looking for a new home,
and a basketball/soccer centered conference like the MVC might still be attractive...
