Without 8-10 MVC-calibur players, we won't be competing for any MVC titles. Just how many MVC-calibur players did we have this year, tornado? At most 4. That's what the problem was all season. It must be changed immediately if you want immediate results. And if that means some of the "returning" players being shown the door, then so be it. If you don't want that, then don't complain next season either.

Have you watched the players Geno has brought in? Pickett is the only one that can play.

You are the biggest Geno supporter and most positive poster I know. I am surprised by your comment!

Rome wasn't built in a day. Cleaning up this mess was always going to take 3-4 years. There's still 1-2 to go before we can reap the rewards. Do you support Geno 100% as well?

4?? We had three that were given All Conference recognition..plus if you watched the game last night - two more, both seniors (WE & JE), clearly belonged there and were among the best players on the floor...
beyond those guys - then we're pretty shallow but we've got two full recruiting classes that have suffered as a result of an unpopular choice to clean house...everyone wants to find someone to blame - but that won't get-r-dun...
If you are saying we need big time talent - I guess I'd have to agree with you - but did we get beat last night by a team with "big time talent"???
In fact - what team that's beaten us lately besides Creighton - has any better talent than we have?
Please - tell me -- we almost got beat by UIC - it took a lucky last second shot by Jake - do they have better talent?? What player on their entire roster is as good as our guys?"

If you think we oughta just call "Blue Chippers-R-Us" and reload then give me the name of a few recruits lining up to accept BU's offer...
I say go all out or break the - ahem - whatever to pry Nate Taphorn away from his commitment & offer Chin's first born to the Hamilton family to land Tommy, Jr. and use whatever it takes to motivate him into being a starter-talent

Would you be happy if we just went and hired your buddy back right now? You know, the one who left the cupboard bare a couple years back...

if the cupboard was bare - then if we don't count the points & rebs accumulated by those guys - we had just 20 pts & 9 rebs last night...
if you're looking for something to call "bare" then you can't see the forest for the trees
the barest thing we have is the end of the bench beyond the five starters - all but one of which came from that bare cabinet..

And if we're not able to replace those players with even better ones for next year, then I agree that there is a major problem...

Obviously differences in perspective for our current players (well, before last night)

I think on any given night, we have 7 MVC-caliber players, but it seems only 4 show up per game.
Jake has definitely stepped it up this season, and Will has provided a lot.
But we have been very inconsistent toward the end of the season, leading people to question the talent.

Jake has games where he hardly shoots, Dyricus has games where he's really on or really off, and Will is mentally inconsistent. For underclassmen this is to be expected. For seniors, this can't happen for a team to be successful.

Not to mention JP having breakout games and then being practically invisible for half the games for a prominent 6th man, and TP having a couple stretches of inconsistency.

JC and KB are slowly improving, but make critical mistakes that you can't afford to make in Valley games. Not sure if they are MVC-caliber or not, but they have the potential.

We need 8-9 guys that are consistent from game to game and I think that will make a big difference.

I think Walt has proven to be our most consistent player, and we need guys that can provide that - not necessarily as talented as Walt or athletic.

SS has been a disappointment in most everyone's eyes and questioning whether he is MVC-caliber is legit, and NW is not MVC-caliber at this point in his 2nd full season with Bradley.

2 years and some people are still trying to blame the previous coach. Unbelievable. How many more years are some people going to try to stretch that lame excuse out?
This team has 40% of the MVC All Defensive team, yet we gave up over 80 points to a crappy Drake team.
We have All MVC players and would have had others (Remy Abell, Tyler Brown, Corey Hawkins) and some pretend the cupboard was bare. We were embarrassed yesterday by a lousy team. Please stop trying to blame people who have been gone 2 years.

Our current players are all being asked to play a system they had never seen before and for a coach who didn't recruit them - this is always a tough situation and NOBODY's fault but obvious fallout of massive changes...
...all I have ever said - that those people (fans, columnists, and others who are responsible) who demanded the changes despite the warnings that we'd have several years of losing teams before getting back to any level of success - even the level everyone panned (fourth place and EIEIO Tourneys)...then they have what they wanted and as expected they don't like it and will try like he** to find someone else to deflect blame - no matter how irrational it gets.

What are you going to say when we are contending for the title in another couple years? Will you finally admit that the firing was justified? Every reasonable person, including me, knew that it would take 3-4 years. Only you instant gratification types thought differently. Of course, your definition of instant gratification (4th-5th place, 20 wins through E-I-E-I-O's) and mine (contending for titles and NCAA's) are two different things. My definition was never going to be met without a change. Yours would have. You were satisfied with that...I was not.
