Now wouldn't that be quite an accomplishment for Mo to create that kind of a legacy at WIU by being the one to upgrade them to the MVC. I think you have the potential to have some good rivalries created between WIU, SIU, BU, ISU, St. Louis, and even Drake and/or ISUblue.

Let's not get ahead of our selves here. Conference re-alignment is about two things; branding and revenue potential. BU needs to do what is best for both just like CU leaving for the C7 works out great for them. They are leaving. It is just a matter of time. The A-10 also has not heard anything from Butler or Xavier regarding their future. The smart thing is to not make a move until the last possible moment. I expect CU to make an announcement sometime in May the earliest.

Now on the Valley making up for CU's departure I hope DU and BU have a say!

Right. And that would keep the Valley travel expenses in check. That would be cool if the Valley became one of the most "compact" conferences in terms of geographical area. I know UIC is a public university, but if the Valley added them, Loyola-Chicago and Valpo, that would make quite a midwest conference, even if the Chicago teams leave little to be desired in terms of quality right now. At least the Valley would now own a gigantic tv market which could improve recruiting from Chicago for everyone.

Doug Elgin is not in a position to "not be a fan" of something. Jim Delaney? Maybe. But Doug Elgin pretending like conference realignment isn't happening is like the Sears CEO saying he's not a fan of online shopping. That's great and all but it's still happening whether he likes it or not and it's taking a toll on his business. Doug is looking more and more like he isn't prepared for what's happening in college basketball...

              I know - that's why I left that quote...

If Doug Elgin is sitting in the position of being a fan of all this, then he's not earning his pay..
he needs to be more than a fan.....

When Creighton leaves (I'm assuming it's all but a given at this point, though the geography doesn't make sense to me), it seems like the next move is for Elgin's job -- if he replaces with a strong replacement, no problems. But if we struggle to replace or grasp at someone like Loyola, I'd be worried if I was in his shoes.

I like the idea of Belmont for its market. I heard Denver mentioned as well... I know the distance is a bit far (and contradictory to my comments above about Creighton/Big East), but that'd be another nice market to have.
