  • Creighton Loss Injures MVC; A Serious Wound?

Looking at what ESPN is reporting, this is a no brainer for Creighton. Taking millions annually in TV revenue and heading to a higher conference. Congratulations to them, they deserve it. Their program is excellent.

So, in my opinion this is a serious wound to the MVC. And this is what, I'm sure, Dr. Cross has been preparing for....To lose the star program in multiple sports...baseball, soccer, and basketball to name the three bigger ones. Not sure if the Valley can fully recover even to a high mid conference. Let me explain...Wichita State is next. I suspect they feel that they deserve better.

Let me know how you feel the Valley recovers from this opening salvo blow....And, no the Dakota's or Summit's don't repair this..

The MVC has lost many teams that were as good as, and in some cases far better teams than Creighton- Tulsa, Memphis, Louisville, Cincinnati, St. Louis, and half of the teams in the Big 12. The Valley survived the loss of every one of those teams. Somehow, I think the Valley will be just fine if Creighton leaves.

Creighton is not a long standing member of the MVC so in that respect they are certainly replaceable. I certainly won't miss their obnoxious fans at the Valley tournament. They are worse than even the ISU Red fans. They are equally hated by every other conference team. That being said I've always had a very healthy respect for them going back to the Bob Harstead/Chad Gallager days until now and the best player I've seen in the Valley since Hersey, Doug McDermott. Hopefully the Valley, since this broke last year, have been on the lookout to add other teams

        Bring on Butler!

I know, that's a pipe dream, but hey, we can dream, can't we?

Speaking of healthy respect, how is your treatment going these days?

If we're adding Butler let's just go ahead and add football at BU again!
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!

Just had my first radiation and chemo treatments today. Radiation lasts about 20 minutes with about 7 1/2 minutes of it is getting the actual treatment. You lie on your back with a mesh mask over your head and neck and your not supposed to move once they start the radiation treatment. Not the most fun thing I've ever done but I'll get throught it. Just 32 to go. As for the chemo treatment it takes about 5 hours to complete it. You just sit there. Next time I'll bring a good book to read. Next treatment is in 3 weeks and the 3rd and last treatment will be in 6 weeks. The doctors are saying this is supposed to care of it so hopefully the side effects will be minamal and I'll get through it. Thanks Bravesfan for caring.

Just heard on ESPN Sportscenter that Butler and Xavier will be joining with the Catholic 7. They did say it's not official but that it's a done deal.
