Bradley's low post players - comparison over past 25 years

a lot of people said they thought Evansville's Mockevicius was superior to anyone we had...but again this was based on what he did in just one game...
everyone's entitled to their opinions - but he hasn't done so well since....

Since then he's been terribly inconsistent & ineffective...Aces fans are grumbling about his play, he's battled foul trouble in almost every game, and in the critical game last night against Wichita with Evansville trying to get the #3 seed...they kinda had to do it without him - he was 0-4, 1 pt, and 5 rebs...
In the six games since they played us...he is averaging just 4.5 ppg as their full time center..

I have never claimed we have HOFers or NBA caliber bigs - all I said was that in comparison to the low post players we've had since the 80's - extremely few - perhaps just two had any better season stats than the guys we have now..
nobody has yet refuted that except for silly claims that Jackson and Cellus were our low post guys instead of Bayo & POB

the question I pose and have yet to hear a single legit answer...
if we should be doing better getting post players - then give me the name of someone we have not yet offered that we should be offering??
People act like Geno is unaware that all you gotta do is go to Big-R-Us or Bob's Big & Tall...and pick out a few...

In his first full recruiting class, Geno got us Pickett, who in IMHO is our best overall big since Zach (rebounding, defense, hustle, finishing on O).. There are more Picketts out there, so I'm sure we will get more .
BTW, at least it sounds good that DR reported Hamilton's mom was at the Creighton game..

So this year we have 3 bigs on our team, but the years of jackson and cellus we only had 1??? a low post player plays down lown, and gaurds 4's or 5's on other teams. Jackson, Cellus, Cage, and many others not mentioned were low post big men.. how many 3's did jackson take his senior year? 1? yet hes not a low post player but egolf is? come on

I agree - we are utlizing a rotating trio of three guys playing the low post position - that is exactly how I see it...but you are wrong about those past teams...
POB shared the low post with Heemskerk, Rembert, then Zach Andrews...and Bayo shared it with Funches, Rigby, & Koita - even Baptist & Winslow..
...but their stats simply weren't good enough to make my lists - so I guess you just never thought about them - if indeed Deon was a low post player by your judgement - then who the heck was left to play the other positions on the floor if Jackson, Kleine, Bayo, Winslow, Baptist, Funches, Koita, Rigby, and Coupet are all listed a centers or low post players?

and I agree that Tyshon Picket is BY far the best recruiting coup Geno has thus far...
of the nine players Geno has brought in so far (Stewart, Wells, Hodges, Crawford, Shayok, Bell, Pickett, Fields, Grier) he has undoubtedly produced & helped more than all the others combined.

fine - but Geno spoke with each recruit in that class, determined if their commitment was solid, gave them the chance to back out, and then proceeded to confirm his end of the agreement and that he still wanted them in the Class of 2011.
Officially they are the BU Class of 2011 and they are his recruits since he was head coach.

Right...I think Geno did the right thing...he could have wiped the slate clean but chose to give them a shot and yes officially they came in under his watch he didn't recruit them......

Personally, I have the feeling that some of our better play and toughness this year are partially attributable to our current players practicing against Fields and Grier...

But yes, Fields and Grier have no box score stats.
