I am pleased that we will be 7-3 as ISU is struggling...but it sure would have been nice if our best TV slot could have been won by Creighton and UNI win at home...

Right now Carmichael & Tyler Brown are having great games but the entire rest of the ISU squad are doing absolutely nothing...
ISU trails 52-46 with 11 min to go and Carmichael & Brown combine for 35 of those 46 points...
Wilkins, Keane, Cousin, Hill - all scoreless..
Sean Harris' Yuba buddy (Butterfield) who is on Utah State is 7-8 and 16 pts...

Remember when most of us thought Wilkins was going to be the next big thing in the MVC?

Wilkins has potential but there's been so much off court stuff that he's seriously messed up

now they're down to just 4 minutes and STILL Carmichael & Brown have all but 11 of their points...
        (47 of their 58 points)

It's all but over - down to just 1:54 and ISU is down 10

            Final 80-71 - ISU loses...
Jackie Carmichael had 20 pts and Tyler Brown had 35! Everyone else combined for 16 pts and only one other player had more than a single bucket.
Carmichael & Brown also combined for 20 of their 35 rebounds

              Is Brown also a senior?

Pleasantly surprised to see MSU and Evansville come up with hard fought road wins. I did not expect ISU red to win, but Creighton comes up with another disappointing road effort. A very critical loss for Creighton as they not only put themselves ever closer to the bubble, but probably cost another mid-major team a slot as St. Mary's now may have earned an at-large bid with this win. I would say Creighton is still in the tournament relatively easily now, but they are very close to skating on thin ice!

The UNI loss was a horrible loss for the Valley, and I can't say I saw that one coming! I know Denver is an up and coming team, but UNI should have played with more urgency at home, especially based on their recent Valley win streak. This is why UNI is nowhere near at-large status. Their non-conference performance has been nothing short of very disappointing this year. Denver is now 18-8, but their previous non-conference wins came against teams probably all well within the bottom half of Division I. They do have two wins over 19-7 Utah St., but a team with such a soft schedule themselves that they probably won't even make the NIT. Their win today maybe the best win they have had all year.

BTW - a couple injuries during yesterday's BracketBusters games might turn out to be important...

UNI's pg Anthony James went out midway thru the 2nd half with an ankle injury and did not return.
BTW - UNI head coach Ben Jacobson may have UNCHARACTERISTICALLY cost his team the game with his temper........
got a technical when they were down only 2 points and well under a minute to go - still a very winnable game - but the technical FTs and ensuing possession put the game out of reach.

Evansville's combo guard Ned Cox also went out yesterday with a foot injury - status is not known...
...this column also says the MVC looks to be a one-bid league..

Drake's Jordan Clarke - who killed BU - sat out the entire game with a knee injury...

SIU lost Josh Swan to a season ending knee injury - now one of their best players Desmar Jackson has been troubled with a ankle injury..
Creighton’s Blue Jays played suffocating defense all night against the Salukis and held them to just 35 percent shooting from the field to take the game 59-45 during SIU’s 16th consecutive conference road loss Tuesday. Jays’ senior guard Grant Gibbs affected the game in almost every aspect for Creighton (22-6, 11-5 Missouri Valley Conference) as...

Lastly - an injury to Summit top scorer Nate Wolters might impact the upcoming conference tourney - as well as injuries to WIU's Terrell Parks & Remy Roberts
Nate Wolters' injury was too much for South Dakota State to overcome, and the Murray State Racers did exactly that with the game's result.
