    +1

I too thought he did a lot of good things here, and hoped he would get one more year due to the injury issues he had to deal with the year before. But there is nothing we can do about that now as Geno is in his second year here, and he seems to have this program pointed in the right direction. And he seems to be a great coach and a great person as well. I don't think it would be fair not to give him our complete support, no matter what side of the Les debate people were on.

Yeah, but how come we don't talk about Albeck at all? He's an alumni that "resigned" (got run out) despite a tournament appearance. He was replaced by an outsider who only won 7 in the following season, then improved to 11-16. Geez, I'm amazed Bradley kept playing basketball in the early 90's after that...

            Absolutely.
Hey, let's just let the few people on here continue to express their displeasure and disappointment of our strides from last year and not let them put a damper on the excitement about the future among the majority of fans who have seen considerable improvement from LAST year.

I'm done with reliving the glory years of 20-win seasons and no higher than 4th place finishes that I would be unsatisfied with under ANY coach over a decade no matter how much injuries played a part, but am realistic that it will take some time. Some of us forget that we were picked to finish 9th in the Valley, and being hopeful BU fans, we shouldn't have gotten our hopes up too much this season.
Geno's progress is undoubtedly better than the general expectations at the start of the season, and that will be reflected in getting some consideration for Coach of the Year in the Valley - not just in the eyes of BU fans, but in the eyes of fans of other teams in the league.

I am sure some people will think I am crazy for this, but I would say that Albeck might be one of the worst coaches in BU history. The guy did minimal recruiting. He used BU as a holding place for his next gig. He had an attitude like he was doing BU a favor being here.

He set the program back more than he helped it.

To be in a fight for 6th instead of entrenched as a number nine is a small victory, but one that gives me hope for next year.

I'ts eerily funny, whatever that means! You're right FWO.
For some reason - maybe it's the 100th time I've seen your Avatar now, I think you look like an All-American from Creighton. Be true to yo'self man!

+1.... The coaches even admitted they thought they were going back to the Spurs and did not recruit the final year. HUGE set back!

So you think nobody is going to even consider Geno for Coach of the Year? Come On! I'm not saying he will get any votes, but other coaches have recognized the great job that Geno has done with the expectations heading into the season.

You obviously don't correspond with other Valley fans around the league who view Bradley's progress as a surprise and like the job that Ford has done.

Did you bother looking at the origin of how the debate began in the latest popular threads?
Assuming the usual spot at the popular pot.

Sometimes I think it's a sick tactic to try to strike up the debate because we can't just get enough of it.

                            • Nowadays - just about any coach who does a "remarkable job" or "magnificent job" (terms we have seen) will be in line for a contract boost & extra salary...
If Geno earns it more power to him - and congratulations.....I hope he does...
Geno has done a very good job - he's also being paid well to do a very good job - if Bradley finishes as a Thursday team I would be extremely surprised if he gets a salary boost ...there's your answer

BTW -- there's a certain comedic effect one can get watching the fans' comments about coaches' abilities....
Some fans can only see the past few games and how much they won or lost by......
When ISU was winning everyone was saying Muller was a GREAT coach who knew how to win as a head coach..
then he hit the Valley part of his schedule and lost a whole bunch straight and suddenly many of his own fans were backtracking and saying he still has a whole lot to learn, and some even openly began wondering if maybe Muller was too inexperienced and shouldn't have gotten the job.
Then bingo - ISU started winning and all the comments were glowing - then they drop one to Bradley then a few more and now it's gone the other way again...it's been amusing to watch...

                                What was the question?
