I know - even more troubling..

UIC hardly gets anything off the bench - in that respect they are like us...
although we have 5-6 guys who score - they really only have 4 ..
their 5th best scorer - starter Marc Brown - averages only 5 ppg on 34% shooting and a really hard to believe 23% from the arc - since the guy is one of their 3pt shooters.

One other thing I saw on their message board - they puzzle over the fact that Bradley & their fans want to play in Chicago...
...they apparently do not realize we have thousands of alumni living up there plus we benefit by getting exposure there and playing in front of a good recruiting base

Yeah, I saw that too. Not sure why they think it's not that great to play in Chicago. The city is pretty much up for grabs when it comes to college basketball affiliation and most of best Chicago recruits never stay in the city or even in Illinois.

I'm headed to the UIC Pavilion with a group of 19 today. Hope to see a ton of BU alumni from the area and make it more like a neutral court game!

UIC hasn't drawn more than 4,000 at home all year, even for their conference and city rival Loyola. In the 2007 opener, the attendance was 6,080 and that was their second highest home attendance for the season (game with Butler was 7,799 that year). So this will probably be their best draw of the season.

Also, the person I talked to at the UIC ticket office seemed really nice, even when she knew I was a BU fan. She told me the $10 tickets would normally be $18 for other games. Does anyone know if BU negotiated that price or was UIC just playing to the BU alumni in the area to get a higher attendance?

The PDF seems to be for the Drake game ... paging Bobby Parker - I was hoping to print this out before heading over to the UIC Pavilion today ...

        Thanks!

          Thanks DC ... ... ...

Had a feeling there would be no gathered groups going to the playing game. This means also no white castle hamburgers and fries. Sadness. Again, thanks for letting me know.
There has got to be some place we can go to have fun!

There are a lot of BU fans here at the UIC Arena.

we have totally forgotten how to go down low - and have fallen desperately in love with the three...

edit -- we finally go down low to Will & get fouled & go to the line - get something out of that possession..

Has UIC just gone on a 19 point run?

how can we let Joey Miller drive right into the lane for an easy, short shot?
..we finally go twice right down low and duh............we get four points out of those two trips ??

OK - now Jake has clanked 3 long ones - and none were close - then next two possessions we take it in the lane & score both times -- hmmm...

good - more points in the paint from Pross - then DSE finds next possession that it opens the periphery

It's nothing more than the ebb and flow of the college game tornado. I wouldn't read anything more into it... We are not a Duke.

We have a team full of players with marginal, at best, basketball IQ... Most are just not natural "players", but rather athletes that have had to learn the game... Most of our guys just don't have the natural "feel" for the game. otherwise they would have likely gone somewhere higher than BU. They can be coached on the fundamentals but, if they haven't learned them by the time they get to college it is unlikely that they can play fundamental ball consistently. This BU team must hit on all cylanders to beat most teams... We're getting there though.

Wow! UIC showed on that last trap against Lemon just how well coached they are; they obviously practiced that defensive play. I'm shocked more teams don't do the same as Lemon is VERY predictable, especially in that situation.
