Heading into the UIC BracketBusters game this Saturday...
For that reason and for BU fans in Chicago, this is about all that I thought could possibly be on the line for this game. I was thinking this might be the least meaningful game for us in a looooong time.
But WAIT!!!
1) Coming out with a strong performance to rebound from last game is a way to get rid of that sick feeling among fans, players, and coaches from that tragedy last night, and reaffirms that this team rebounds well from losses and is mentally tougher.
2) A win ensures that we finish at least .500 for the season!!!!!
3) Another win probably gets us a win or 2 away from getting invited to an EIEIO tournament, which would be a nice reward for this team's vast improvement.
4) A victory helps our mindset heading into the last home game vs. Creighton, which might just be OUR Superbowl to send our seniors out in style. A loss keeps us down from where we were after last night's game.
I hope Geno has in mind all of this, AND the fact that it's HIS job to get this team ready for EVERY game, and he gets paid buku bucks for what he does.
At first thought, second thought, and more, this game means very little, but I'm sure we'll feel differently AFTER the game is played, right?
And we might have a chance to close out another game, which would be good for the morale of this team, but hopefully, like T said, it won't come down to that, unless Geno gives more PT to Bell, Crawford, Wells, Shayok.
