Get an invitation to one of those second level post season tournaments (below the NIT)? I've never been a fan of those tournaments because I've viewed them as non-value add (no media coverage...no bump to recruiting). On second thought, I think I would be happy to see BU in a low level tournament this year. For one, it gives the seniors another chance to put the jersey on, secondly, it may provide a minor revenue grab (we're almost certain to put 5,500 butts in the seats), and thirdly, after what we've been through the last few seasons, it would be a moral victory. The question is: Will 15 wins get us an invite? Home game?

For the CBI or CIT, I suspect we'll need a .500+ record, and be willing to pay their exorbitant fee to get an invitation to enter their tournaments. But, I doubt we can sell enough tickets to keep from losing a lot of money buying into the CBI for a home game. The CIT charges a little less, but it will probably still be a money-losing prospect.

Interesting topic. Can we get enough W's to get an offer? Then, do we want it? I say we have enough young guys to make it worthwhile.
But let's see how the next couple weeks play out. When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

The buy-in fee for the CBI when Bradley played in it in 2008 was $60,000 to host a 1st round game. Last year, the fee reportedly rose to $70,000. I was told that even though Bradley set attendance records for the CBI in 2009 that have still never been broken, that we actually lost money hosting those games. We also set attendance records the following year when we played in the CIT, but I believe we also lost money on that tournament. We were invited to play in both tournaments in 2010, but turned them down, partly because of the cost.

Hate to say it but I'm in the mind set that if we can't break even its not worth it. I'd suspect for many reasons it has been a down cycle in revenues for BU overall and I'd rather spend the money we do have in other investments. I thought BU was trying to build a practice dome? BU is not the federal government and it cannot run a deficit if it wants to remain a top notch educational institution."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Just my thoughts here...Any CIT or CBI games would be in the Coliseum. BU would seek a home game. Hey, why not. More wins are needed for this discussion. Believe it would be at a $ loss given my math. Really don't see any way around that...
I believe the practice dome discussion continues. Unique opportunity. Potentially a way to put BU Braves signage right on I-74 across the dome's side top. That would be neat. Just throwing it out there...
The infrastructural improvements on campus have been excellent to date....There is additional "activity" under discussion to help with university enrollment, academic branding, national recognition, and profit...
