Anyone watch the Missouri v Arkansas game? Missouri got robbed on 3 different calls IMO during the last 45 seconds. The bad calls are happening in every conference. I'm not sure what the philosophy of reffs are now days. It sure seemed to be different years ago. The conversation around reffs is an all to common event, when if they are doing their job we should rarely mention them."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

I'm biased against ISU in every way but.....
it did look intentional from the standpoint that Jackie was staring directly at the player (39 sec mark) as he extended his leg and delivered a shot to the chest.
The game itself was won/lost on the shooting and turnovers that happened just following.
I remember an incident years back where Marcellus Sommerville somehow ended a rebound attempt with John Little of UNI in a headlock and delivering a knock to the noggin. Things happen, and no doubt this one was costly.Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

No one has a 72 inch vertical... what was JC doing with his feet that high? It was clear he was trying to kick him and it looks like he brushed his face/chin before kicking him in the chest.
I'd worry more about why JC feels the need to kick people and why Hill can't hold on to the ball and less about the refs. As always your fans were classy as the WSU bench entered the tunnel ISU got what they deserved.

Some more facts emerging from this game...
-Doug Elgin described the confrontation between the two coaching staffs in the hallways after the game as...
"We came close to a dangerous incident," Elgin said.
“Any time you have the emotions and volatity of teams
right after the game I think we’ve got to be very careful
to keep them separate.
WSU defeated Illinois State 68-67 at Redbird Arena,
leading to a shouting match that brought security guards
scurrying to the scene in the hallway that leads to the locker rooms.
Even after restoring order, security guards escorted WSU players
and coaches until they exited the arena.
"We need to always review our post-game security, the way
in which our teams cross on the court and sometimes back-stage,"
Elgin said. "We need to remind ourselves of the need to be respectful."
-a comment from one of the officials about their judgement of Carmichael's kick-foul..
"(Carmichael received) ...a flagrant foul for a kick deemed intentional, yet wasn’t ejected.
(if they..)..deem it intentional..(it should be)...a Flagrant 2 with an ejection..
“Officials are allowed to use the monitor to determine if it is excessive or intentional,
just like a fight” he said. “They felt there was an intentional action that took place.”
-one observer stated this...
"During post game handshakes, apparently one WSU coach disrespected
Coach Ford...as both teams headed for the locker rooms, one of ISU
assistants stuck up for Coach Ford by confronting said WSU coach...and
mayhem ensued! Myself and some university police officers had to separate
ISU coaches and players from WSU coaches and players!! Had the security
not responded as such, blows most definitely would have been exchanged.
Most surprising was how both head coaches responded...Muller tried to help
diffuse the situation...Marshall was adding fuel to the fire by screaming back
obscenities, showing no professionalism nor respect for either program. I
personally had to hold back an ISU assistant during the scuffle. Not sure if
this makes any sort of news outlet...but expect to see sanctions be placed
upon both programs by the MVC! It could have got real ugly, real fast and
put the MVC in such a negative light. What ever respect I had towards WSU
and Marshall is now lost. Also the former ISU coach, now WSU coach was
part of the obscenity exchanging and interaction with the fans."
-the league is going to apparently try to promote different lockerrooms and exits so teams do not cross each others' path after the handshake
-six different teams' NBA scouts were att his game

yes- it's the Paul Suellentrop blog - he cites what the MVC guy at the scorer's table said and I gave the part of the quote that was relevant...so it is shortened...

You gotta' keep'em separated
Like the latest fashion
Like a spreading disease
The players are strappin' on their way to the coliseum
Getting weapons with the greatest of ease
The teams stake their own court floor locale
And if they catch you slippin' then it's all over pal
If one guy's colors and the other's don't mix
They're gonna bash it up, bash it up, bash it up, bash it up...
Hey - man you talkin' back to me?
Take him out
You gotta keep 'em separated
Hey - man you disrespecting me?
Take him out
You gotta keep 'em separated
Hey they don't pay no mind
If you play in the MVC you won't be doing any time
Hey come out and play
By the time you hear the whistle
It's already too late
One goes to the locker and the other to the bench
One guy's wasted and the other's a waste
It goes down the same as the thousand before
No one's getting smarter
No one's cares about the score
Your never ending spree of fouling, kicking, and punching
Is gonna hurt your own team, hurt your own team, hurt your own...
Hey - man you talkin' back to me?
Take him out
You gotta keep 'em separated
Hey - man you disrespecting me?
Take him out
You gotta keep 'em separated
Hey they don't pay no mind
If you play in the MVC you won't be doing any time
Hey, hey, come out and play
...BUilding for the Future
